Punk rock is truly universal; seeing these kids in Motörhead shirts is inspirational…merging faith with music is itself uplifting.
How is it uplifting?
No intelligent individual would ever believe in fairy tales.
Faith is ignorance, with or without music.
In theory, this is not even allowed in their religion since all of music for them is satanic
Michael Muhammad Knight is a personal hero of mine - This is an excellent documentary, thank you for uploading "Taqwacore" friend. ✌️
Didn't expect to get really invented but this documentary is very interesting, I love how all these people far away from each other could come together and celebrate what makes them happy
Adding a comment for the algorithm 🤘🏻
WOAH I'm watching this for the 3rd time and I just realized that's Riz Ahmed rapping at 28:07
just came to the same realization, he is also at the chicago conference arguing with security
The drug use is such a human story I can relate I use to have a drug problem at nineteen I hope he finds his strength to stay sober.
amazing documentary, i love the kominas. i wish there were more bands like this
There are sooo many
Al Hamdulillah ✊️
20:18 - You can tell that a lot of skill and effort went into framing these, hahaha!
''Shariah Law in the USA'' maybe won't be covered by Megadeth, yet as a cultural find it's as hard-hitting as the original that inspired it, penned by that squire Lydon so many moons ago. In fact, in the UK, it's already there. ''You doubt me?''(says I quoting Mr Rice from the mile-high-city). In a nutshell, this is fascinating and scary at the same time. Mosquee Moon!.
41:36 - This begs the question, why follow something when you know the majority of it is horseshit? Picking and choosing what you find ''cool'' just means that you're a hypocrite either way. Totally unnecessary and superficial adherence to Islam.
Are u talking about the punk portion or their twisted views on islam, cuz i fs agree w u, y pick n choose it’s pointless
@@zarmeenshah2624 Both.
What's pointless is following something that first and foremost, isn't true, and secondly following something that you don't even believe in.
If one wants to commit themselves to fairy tales, that is their right, in most countries in the world. However, claiming to be something, and then simply expressing free will only makes you a hypocrite, nothing else.
Because it just part of who they are. It’s like nationality, gender etc.
@@MrNenai That's not how religion works.
@@incumbentvinyl9291 that’s how every identity narrative works.
excellent work guys.
mike knight is questionable.....ive heard alot of rumors on how many pakistani girls hes "tried to talk to"
Oof that makes me sad, but not surprised. The punk scene, like any other scene, is full of jerks but cool people too :')
*I've *a lot *Pakistani *he's
What's wrong with that?
sick, i'm a punk muslim too 🤘
The Islamic Center of Greater Toledo : great place, great community. I go there every year for their International Festival in mid-September. "Islam is a religion of peace" : nowhere does that cliché come to life more than at this place during this event.
With death sentences for adulterers, apostates and homosexuals still firmly enshrined in Islamic Law... no.
Oh well you can't please everybody
One of the most moronic slogans in history.
The Quran is very clear and specific on a lot of aggression and violence, and doesn't nearly condemn all of it. I'd say that it's a religion of hate, like all other Abrahamic Religions. Religion just a tool to make ignorant sheep obey.
@@blackmore4 there is a reason for that, no where is there room for “just because” rules in islam everything has a purpose even if u cant come to terms with it
check out this amazing crust punk band from Los Angeles called Inqirad "Extinction" really good future wave of this movement
please tour in germany!
I hate that feeling when you talk to the people in mosques and they welcome you but then tell you that you have to spread their message to everybody in your family like one of those slimy sales dudes trying to sale fridges to people in Inuits. All this working with lovebombing and guilt… you cannot be mad at them because it’s normal for most people but I wished mosques were more about listening than lecturing
The Kominas brought me here.
28:22 bruv is that riz ahmed💀
The 'I Love Jesus' hat : you gotta love that!
I was just reflecting on this today! How cool!
well we muslims do love Jesus, he's our prophet after all :)

Punk is Anarchy, means no Gods no Masters, and this guys coming saying totaly nonsense.
Arabic music and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan music is the greatest....why would anyone want to dumb down the Islamic music with some Western 80s style retro copy?
Why would anyone want to play Islamic music in the first place?
It's really none of your concern. Are you the Music Referee?@@incumbentvinyl9291
@@incumbentvinyl9291 because it's better than this nonsense
