Good morning Johnny, awesome tour around Fairview mall on a Monday afternoon! How cool that you were in my area since I live north of Fairview which is at Don Mills and Finch. And it was great running into you on that day right before your livestream ended at Bayview and Sheppard. Have a great Sunday! Cheers!
It was the mall that was near to me when I was growing up (I lived at Van Horne & Edmonton, which is only a few miniutes walk away from Fairview Mall.)
Thanks for swinging by my old neighborhood, Johnny! I used to live right down Forest Manor, and Fairview mall was definitely a regular routine in my spare time 🤣
10:18-Not all malls in the United States are shutting down; there's a mall in the Queens district of New York City that's quite successful (even through the recent pandemic) and in Manhattan, there's the Hudson Yards mall, which is somewhat like the Eaton Center here in Toronto, only as more upscale like Yorkdale is.
My fav mall. Started to shop here in 1974. Brandt meats had delicious deli meat and bread. Loblaws within a few metres. I'd start at the library, next stop was Loblaws, and Brandt's. I bought an older kitten at the pet store on the first floor. If I still had the energy, I'd walk over to Johnny's Hamburgers at Vic Pk. Johnny's is still at the same location. I am happy that Johhny hasn't caved in and sold to the developers. Thanks for the trip back memory lane.
Hi Johnny I live in Texas now, I used to work at the The Fairview Mall back in 2006 ,, so your video makes me nostalgic and it takes me back to my younger days ,, I was so eager to see how Fairview Mall looks these days,, I became emotional watching your video.
Hello 👋🏼 thanks for the nice stream brought back memories from my childhood used to live near the mall and went to school at forest manor public school keep up the good work until next time 👩🏻🏫
Johnny you have an epic clean shot of the 985 Sheppard East articulated bus 2:12 This golden footage can be converted into a gold RUclips Short. 💫 10K - 20K views easy 20+ new subscribers even more maybe 100K the sky is the limit.
Cadillac Fairview also operate Markville Mall up in Markham, basically Fairview's littler brother. If you ever wanted an excuse to take the GO Stouffville Line, it's right beside Centennial GO.
Fairview mall is a good size mall, not too big as Yorkdale Mall and not too small as CentrePoint mall. Fairview mall is fully renovated and nice food court n clean washrooms. Due to inflation, friends and family can’t afford resto anymore so we hang out at this mall n eat at the food court, we create our own buffet. It’s fun and it’s a safe environment too. I love 10 mins drive from there and I live in North York for 23 years ❤
Malls just make sense in Canada where the weather outside is not-so-great for large parts of the year. Filling the old "anchor" tenant areas with libraries & supermarkets has been a good idea and so is the plan to increase population density by building condo towers instead of keeping all the surface parking. I just wish malls would bring back having more greenery & fountains inside - so important for mood in winter!

Fairview Mall was a fav of mine in 1971!

I like that pedestrian walkway. I used to always take public transportation. It means a lot not to have to dodge cars on the way to & from.

Looking forward to this stream. My time, my job and home around Fairview Mall. 50 years, time just flew by.
Im 61. I used to play in the fields that are now the high rises and Fairview Mall
I grew up in this mall in the 70's and 80's. Great memories.
That Hibachi restaurant used to be Spring Rolls. I miss that short lived chain in Toronto.
There was a Spring Rolls in Atrium on Bay as well!
Great neighbourhood, lived in here for almost 10 years.
I bought my winter coats and my luggages, at Sears, in Fairview Mall.

good morning everyone
Wow this brings back so many great memories. Looks like the area has changed a lot, in a good way of course. Evolution is important.

I used to live on Forrest Manor when they were a block of townhouses. What a great neighborhood. It's changed so much.
Fairview, Rainbow cinema and the Arcade in the lower level. Childhood memories
Wow! I live near this mall, but I haven't been in this mall in a while.
Actually a fan of the mall. If they still had heart sushi there, it would be awesome. Can take the subway right there and walk upstairs.

Good.Monday.johnny
Thx a lot Johnny. I had a great time going down memory lane. I absolutely loved this stream. Take care.
Love Fairview Mall
my neck of the woods.
grew up in parkway forest from 1991.
Great video johnny
I miss the computer stores and the photo lab that used to be here.
This place used to be quite futuristic inside and outside, now it's a retroized mall like many others.

I know Fairview mall very well. I’ve been their a lot and I like 20-30 minutes away from it
Welcome to Mumbai

Was that Catherine O'Hara on that advertising poster?
Does this mall have Hot Topic
It did but closed down...
