He was very sick for a good while. Not being able to perform when your big break hit will hurt any musicians career. Not many people that that chance but he did get the hit so good for him. Regardless of what happens he can still do county fairs all summer if he wants and probably make 10 grand in clear profit every night after paying the bills. That's not a bad living. I know that he does still tour and perform. he is very much in the game.

Mr Wade Hayes was among the many whom pioneered the great country western music sound of the early 90’s, among such greats as Clay Walker, Clint Black, Sammy Kershaw, Mark Chesnutt, Mark Wills, Ty Herndon, Tim McGraw, Garth, AJ, LoneStar, Brookes n’ Dunn & several of the females too....I can go on & on, following such greats as the king of country George Strait. Anyways, I had no idea till lately he battled colon cancer. But I am thrilled to hear he’s made a full recovery. I, at one time, was an aspiring country singer, but life events happened & had to set it on the back burner. 43 now & almost retirin’ from the military, but that dream is still there when pluckin’ the ol’ strings. One thing I have learnt in life is that at times The Lord May allow events to happen in one’s life to draw that individual closer to Him. We may never understand the scope of ‘why’ cuz His thoughts & ways are far greater than our own & cannot be fathomed. & I truly believe He used what the enemy intended to bring Wade down as a tool to draw him nearer to Him, a love that cannot be measured in our own finite minds. & to you Mr Wade Hayes, God Bless you & your fam. Thank you for using your talent in country music & thank you for not being ashamed proclaiming the Name above all other names......Jesus Christ

I was aware of some of Wades struggles as he has been a huge inspiration in my life through his music, way back to the days when he was playing in the bars and clubs. As a DJ I played a lot of his stuff, very much mainstream at the time. I remix some of the music and still play it (Wade would cringe to hear it) - yep you can throw Pitbull in anywhere jk. LOL. -but the tracks still keep the dance floor full! Thanks Kix for this interview for Wade. I never saw this. There is a reason He is still here, God has his plan and I think even for those that don't know him well if at all, through his music and now speaking. Truly a blessing to this world!

Guy like that I'd love to for him to have a couple hit singles back on country music radio which has changed a lot over the years sounds more like white rap and drum machines but there's still some traditionalists left and I would love him to be one of them
