I found a 5 ton military truck! Was this a mistake?!... Watch what it takes to get this beast and how driving it 5 hous went...

Buy another cab, flip it around, bolt em together. Now you have a crew cab with suicide rear doors. Convert the 8.3 to a P pump, or have your MW built. Add an HX52. Drop in an MD3560P. Get a tcase that won't explode in low reverse.
Just don't bob it and delete a rear axle. Been done a million times and the 5 tons look really awkward like that. Better to go bigger and add 16R20s, but be prepared for them to rub. The 14R20s rub as it is.
If you really want to go nuts, get a set of bridge truck axles and run dual 14R20s in the rear.
I'd murder it out and do some Mad Max flair lol

Brad congrats on the purchase I see the engine isnt the 855, how has that been? The truck looks like its CTIS equipped, careful you dont dump tp much money into that its a never ending pit and parts are getting short. Now its time to get all the TMs on this truck all the 939 series are essentially the same within their A1 or A2 series with the main differences being the 855 naturally aspirated as opposed to the other turbocharged one that is also usually got CTIS, The A1s are very reliable and a whole lot easier to service and maintain. How has the truck been for you? When I got my first 939 series its an M925 A1 when I got the truck it had just come out of overhaul and had like 600 miles on engine, trans, diffs etc. I drove it 700 miles home, extremely comfortable truck to drive anywhere. The first thing I switched out was the soft top, trucks this age the stitching on the front of the cab gets rotten and starts to separate. One thing I will tell you is you have a placard on the dash that says DO NOT OPERATE THE TRUCK IN LO_RANGE IN REVERSE!!! Do not do this because the result is you will break the bell housing on the transmission!!! THATS BAD!!! Good looking truck I hope it has treated you well??
Drop an axle.....gut the cab, line w dynamat and insulate. Add ac, camera system. Custom numbers, air seats, turn the Cummins way up. Re work the springs for a softer ride. Take the exhaust out the back. Custom bed, storage boxes under bed for tools supplies. Removable RTT or 2 our back.
