From what we've learned about the SA Food Bank is that they get a lot of food absolutely free that's donated from grocery stores, restaurants, bakeries, etc...as well as making food/meals in house from buying products in bulk. So, they can stretch that $1 out in so many ways! And, to address your second point, and that is another good insight, they deliver food to locations all over the city to try and combat the transportation problem! It's not a door-to-door delivery service, but they're doing probably as best as they can. They have quite the infrastructure in place to help out tens of thousands of families every week 🤯
