I DO remember this piece of music from North & South!!! Bill Conti is Great!!! The music fit the show perfectly!!! When you heard the music beginning, you knew that you were about to see a great mini-series, with an All-Star Cast!! RIP, Patrick Swayze (Orrie Main)!!! Such a wonderful performance!! That's how I will always remember him!!🥲
A superb performance from a small but supremely talented group. This brings back good childhood memories. We visited Charleston and Boone Hall Plantation the year after North and South aired on television. There were still movie props and equipment left behind in places from where they were filming. Conti's musical score is right up there at the very top for all time best theme in a miniseries. Probably also the most star studded miniseries ever made.
Try "The Winds of War" from 1983 and "War and Remembrance" from 1987. The novels by Herman Wouk make excellent reading, despite the author making a fool of himself by referring to the U.K. as England. If it had been just England, Germany would likely have won the war.
@@alanbeattie1470Yeah, those were two very good series. Though it was an old fashioned common practice for news personalities, or even generals in the army, to refer to Britain as England. Not meant as an insult, but more so from the traditional sense that many of the great battles in British history were often fought under the St. George’s Cross.
This was a beautiful performance, I recently fell in love with North and South again and I think the score is perfect for the ambience of the mini series. Thanks for sharing this with fans of the series.
Wow traumhaft schön. Ich liebe dieses Stück. Ich selber spiele es auch in einem Musikverein, allerdings mit Böhmflöten und da klingt es schon traumhaft.. Aber in diesem Video :-O Sprachlos seeeehr schön!
Thanks for sharing this! I just finished watching Books 1 and 2 with my mom for the first time while quarantining with my family, and I LOVED them! Where was this? This is awesome.
Wow! Who are these people and what orchestra is this? Kudos for choosing such beautiful theme music. N & S really was a tremendously inspiring and gorgeous soundtrack! And the film was wonderful too!
Pretty good guys! A bit too march-like throughout and you did suffer from a lack of French Horns for the right colour ... but - the trumpets were spot on including the soli. Needed more from the lower brass - come on tubas, you can really add depth!
My favorite movie music. What a great performance. Compliments to this orchestra. The best

Grew up with this tune.
Loves it thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the Great video
Great piece of work! Includes most of the "versions" of the North & South melody; slow, "ordinary" and fast with rythm (drum)
Excellent!!!
Wow ich kann einfach nur sagen respeckt es hört sich richtig gut an mir fehlen die Worte! !! Hammer
There are some very young musicians I think! Brilliant!
I always find this fascinating! amazing and lovely!

It is fast, but the snare drum gives it a more military feel which is nice, too.
It's the final credits theme. Not fast at all,
Genial, brillante , viva
..incredible

Excepcional.

Dto

The end title music to North and South was this March version.
is it possible to get the sheet music of this song?
Nice but too speed. And flutes lacks but by the way, its quite good
It's the final theme. Not so fast.
Can anyone tell me where I could buy this orchestral sheet music?
When the Civil War met soap operas
Love this music, but the tempo was too fast, for any version and as commented before you just NEED the French Horns.
This is one of T.H.O.S.E. occasions when The Tune is better than The Production...
This is a totally different version than the original one by Bill Conti!! Where are the French Horns? Why is there a snare drum? Tempo is too fast!
It's the final theme! Clean your ears.
