A Great Great Master and Guru of Hindustani Classical music, a National Treasure of Agra-Gwalior-Jaipur gharanas who should have been performing in the top festivals of this country and deserves all awards by the Government of India but sadly he has not been given what he deserves by the people and rasikas of India. His saintly , non commercial nature and that he does not believe in marketing himself has also contributed to his not being seen so frequently on the National performing scene. But for the last 7 or 8 years due to the kind efforts of many , we have been lucky to witness so many wonderful and enriching concerts of his. His gayaki.. a rich blend of what he learnt from his Gurus..he spent the first 40 years of his life predominantly learning music under great Gurus and after that in his sadhana, innovating things , training so many disciples who are wonderfully performing . The thing about his concerts is ..you get so much variety and "in the moment" thing. He is edgy ..never boring. Most of the times he decides Raags in the green room or when he ascends the stage. The Nom Thoms may be short or may be very long ( the Darbari Nom Thom he sang at Pune was as though time had stopped), the Vilambit may be less or it may be very long and deep. On Rare occasions , a concert is of predominant Dhruts. And there are newer and newer things coming from within him indicating an endless repertoire of Raags and Classical elements. That Music is an Ocean .. can be experienced by being with him and listening to him. May God give him the blessing to perform into his 90s or 100's and may we be fortunate to listen to many many more of his concerts.

    Once my Gurujee asked me
    "पिछले 5 सालों में जितने खयाल गायकी के कार्यक्रमो को सुना हो इसमे से याद करके कोई एक ऐसा परफॉर्मन्स बताओ जिसमे तुम्हे बंदिश के पूरे शब्द आसानी से समज आ गए हो"

Excellent. What is the box-like instrument at the right side of the screen mostly visible at 19:52?
