I’ve been buying/selling/trading guitars as a small business for the last few months, and I often think about this scene when I’m confronted by the reality of how stupid most people are.
For most people that could read this comment, any instrument they will ever play will have come from a factory and will be one of 100+ identical copies of the same instrument.
Guitars are wooden slabs with vibrating strings attached to them. There’s nothing *that* special about any of them.
It’s like the $1mil+ guitars that got played by celebrities until they could no longer be repaired/kept maintained, so they were auctioned. $1mil+ for an instrument that can no longer properly play music, but will somehow still be cherished. People are nuts.

If Abbott & Costello's rendition of "Who's on First" & CCR (John Fogerty) version of the song "Centerfield" can be in the Baseball Hall of Fame, I see no reason that the film "This is Spinal Tap" shouldn't be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

Last time I was out there with the family, I had to take my kids to Norman's just to get the vibe of seeing such "holy" guitars in their shop.
