Just to a second look at this (after about 5 years) and I do believe I have a theory on the last phase. I'll just say the box is a "prop" used for mystery and obviously Mr. Dill has the skill to pull this off.....Like bugs bunny said, "bring in the double."
Are you talking about the examinable part or the cardboard part? Well, it doesn't really matter. All three phases are possible. The 3rd phase obviously needs slight alterations. The curtain would still be part of the "cardboard" version (even though it would be made from fabric). I was just highlighting that everything is examinable and in no way suggesting to perform this with an actual cardboard box.
@mcjmagic Nope. The box is fully examinable. In fact you could do this with a cardboard box that anyone in the audience cut out and assembled with some tape.
The linking ropes part certainly. The ring on rope not quite so much. Also, the curtains keep the helpers from seeing things they shouldn't. Particularly for the final phase.
The quality of the craftsmanship and the thought that went into the routine is worth much more than $30. However, I would agree that $300 is overpriced. The secret has always been obvious to me which is why I was never interested. I can't help but wonder how many people would be truly fooled by it.
That's one of the biggest mistakes Magicians make these days. I'm not saying you make this mistake. But many magicians try to perform magic that fools them or their Magician friends. I'm probably one of the best Magicians here in Florida. And it's all because of just a couple of theories I follow.
And R.I.P. Pete Biro. He helped me a lot. Always kind and warm person.
This is an amazing piece of magic!
One of the greatest effects of all time
Dean Dill is so awesome. I hope to visit his shop one day. Beautiful prop and effect.
Dean Dill died back in 2015.

My next effect!!
. . . is to find some better way to spend your time?
That was great.
How do I get one of those boxes?

One day, someone might even use this to create Magic.

I don't believe you can do the ring part of the routine that way, though, right?
Oh, how I miss Dean Dill.
That's sweet!

RIP Dean.

@@modernillusionist5017 How can you and I both be the best magician in Florida?
Of course that guys name is BOB. lol
Thats nice, but why it`s called 2.0!? Looks the same as the original routine...!?
F,M.
How stupid!
This is an OLD trick from KarlFulves "Sef Wiorking Table Magic" Page 52.from Dover Books.
I don't believe the Fulves book reveals the ring part of the routine, just the ropes linking. Right?
@@generic53 you are right
