Madan, Frist I really appreciate that you spoke about this . The first mistake made by elders is that at a child's small age they ask the child what he is going to be a future engineer or doctor . This creates something in his mind that only if you be a doctor or engineer you are sucessful and also makes the children feel that they will be a disappointment if they don't be a doctor or engineer.
The Asian parents choose what the child is going to do in high school and even choose their child's degree program and then when he graduates force him or her into getting a job and then after he or her gets a job they envy their friends lifestyle and start to buy luxury products such as phone, car, house and electronics using EMI and he gets the EMI every month and is afraid to quit if not he will make his family homeless in the worst case but we cant blame the elders completely also as they just do it as became a social norm the only thing we could do is giving our child the choice of his career and guiding his life.
