The punk rock scene in L.A. has been very robust for decades. Even when people were saying "punk is dead" in the late 90s when I was young, these people were still around and I went to some of the shows. I was more of a goth, though. They shower more often.

When he said that thing about rich people moving into neighborhoods, that exact thing is happening where I'm from. A lot of city people coming up into the country, big contractors buying up smaller ones in the small towns and essentially have a say over what they build, and guess what they build? Shopping centers, shopping villages and cookie cutter residential neighborhoods. My uncle was telling me the town has contractor relatives on our town council trying to get our town to rip up like 30 miles worth of marsh that's been protected for years, all for a strip of houses and some stupid shopping smart center, you know the one, with the wholefoods and the little bikinni wax shops, shit like that. 20 years ago, the area was a one main road town, with a couple bars, grocery store, a Tim Hortons and a gas station, and somehow to me that feel more like home than any of that cookie cutter garbage. It's how buddy in the video said, it's like a fucking mold of pretentious upper class snobbery, growing away, eating up the land.
And making everything more expensive in their way.

No he isn’t, he does nothing but edit and doctor his interviews. You can see at minimum 10 cuts in a single interview. He does that so he can intentionally make people look dumber than they really are by egging them on. He’s a real piece of shit and not a real journalist.

Hell ya i was part of the political punk scene in socal as an activist organizer in 2012 i was 22 and punks are some of the most down to earth and socially aware people you will ever meet. One time i broke my nose in a mosh pit and the dude that hit me literally stopped and made sure i was okay he felt so bad. I was cool i got my friend to set my nose cuz i didnt want to go to the ER lol man this video made me miss that scene but punk never dies gotta keep fighting the man until we arent seen as second class citizens and racism is dead ftp and fuck facism!

The original punk scene (late 70s-early 80s western Europe) was very, very different from this. None of those people would even want to be interviewed, they'd headbutt the reporter or break the camera. They wouldn't whine about the price of anything, they'd just shoplift.
