It's kind of mind boggling that the combat sound effects aren't there. Very basic and vital component of a beat'em up. They might have the excuse that it's just kids play fighting but everything else looks like it's viewed through imagination so epic combat sounds should be there.
The starting weapon is my favorite in the game, when you level up your attack abilities it cut through everyone easily especially with the bleeding effects
I still want them to make Good Times With Weapons themed game. That was the episode where they were ninjas and Butter's got a throwing star stuck in his eye.
From what i heard from kids that I look after as a bus monitor, when they have a snow day, they still attend school but through video chat. Covid ruined snow days FOREVER 😂
They released a 3d game in the past that looks very similar & wasn’t very good. I figured this would be of similar quality, but I was hoping for better

Thanks for the video! Helped me make a decision on this. I'm a big South Park fan and love the RPGs but not quite sure about this one. Though it's probably fun for like one couch co-op playthrough with friends.
Just beat it on normal and solo. Well solo with AI teammates. I love SP so I am biased in saying that the story and characters and just running around some of the town maps is great. As usual quite a few Easter eggs for longtime fans. The difficulty for normal is very easy imo depending on loadout. I ran sword and shield, fart escape/healing totem and wand the whole time once unlocked and I was never downed. Wand in particular did most of the work, it's a bit op if you get the chain lightning card of a high rarity and other cards that boost it. Here's the issue though, ranged and melee miss so often especially ranged. That's why chain worked so well because it just hits everything. However, enemies with 80% of their bodies exposed in a high place you will not be able to connect with range most of the time. There's some weird ledge protection at play even though they are clearly not in cover, so many times i knew i hit them, but nope so with chain equipped i zapped a nearby enemy to hit them. It looks like they will be adding more to the game so at it's price point and if your a fan I'd say easy buy. As I said I just beat it so haven't even tried horde mode or the new cards unlocked after beating it. And missing a ton of secret unlocks so plenty of replayability at the moment.
Hoping for some updates and dlc that flesh this out a bit more. Feels a little underwhelming when compared to Stick of Truth or Fractured, but still really fun to explore and level up!
looks pretty much worth the money. the visuals give me an old game feel, which makes me feel like as with the games before once you get used to it's flaws it could get pretty fun. I will give it a chance
I might get this eventually. Have to see how long the patches take. I'm not really into most multiplayer games so I hope the bots are decent enough for hard mode as that what this seems best played on.

man i just really really really REALLY wished the south park studios weren't in this bind of shuffling seasons and writers due to covid and streaming services and contracts. Such a shame Ubisoft just wants to focus on first party stuff now

Idk if anybody has played R&C Into The Nexus or Full Frontal Assault. When those games came out, they were also $30. And for the price, they were a great play. Thats the same mentality I have with Snow Day. I’m a huge South Park fan, so I’m a tad biased, but for $30, it’s a fun game. You’ll have fun with friends, and it has a lot of replayability. And no matter what, it’s got that amazing South Park humor.
I hope if they do another one, they can find a way to blend this style with the level of depth and storytelling they did in the previous 2 entries. 6 hours is just a bit too short for my liking and think they were pretty on the money with 15ish hours mark they did in the previpus 2 games. Though I am happy they at least priced it accordingly. I'm still looking forward to this one and am glad it's still looking to be a fun enough time!

Good on South Park for doing its own thing. If folk don't like it or the humour, it is easy to just tune out and do something else. If this had local co op it would be a day one buy for me. Still I might get it down the line.

I loved the first 2 games, or rather the first 2 "newer" games. I hold them in high regard. I feel like this game wasn't even made by the same guys. I'm still on the fence about getting this one. I feel like stick of truth was the best one, and they should have stuck with that formula. I know changing up the gameplay in each game is almost a theme at this point, maybe their identity, but they had a really good system, and just improved on it, instead of scraping it for new systems.
I am renting this game from Gamefly so, I can't wait for it to come in so I can start playing it. I am also glad that it's priced right and not $60-$70 like other games are and some of them priced at that range kind of sucks so, even at a low price is good if it's not good but still good price if it is good. I enjoyed playing the other South Park games on the Switch but I miss playing the first game I played on the N64. I enjoyed playing that a lot, especially the battle multiplayer part. I just hope this game doesn't disappoint!

Bought it as £21 really cheap and I have a mate to play with. Last time I remember a game being this cheap at launch was sega transformed when that released for £25

What do you mean, I hear the sounds of weapon swing and the impact. It's just quiet. I understand though, it is a fantasy game, made by the kids of South Park. The sounds should sound more profound and arcade like.

Ill give it another try but it wasn't clicking with me, combat is pretty janky, controls in general don't exactly feel slick. Thought it was an open world type of game but not really. Guess its 3d at least thats a step forward

Never played any of the recent south park games but sounds like its probably better to go back to play the previous one

Still baffling to me why they didn't do a third true South Park RPG like Stick of Truth or Fractured. One can only hope another one is in the works.
As a southpark fan i really enjoy the game so far and, honestly, the switch port is fantastic!

Metroid Prime Remastered was pretty cheap. And perfectly optimized. All on the cartridge, no need for update.
