2 minutes in and I immediately knew this was a waste of time
Why does this happen so much in the US? I know it can happen anywhere, but to the extent that it happens in the United States is crazy. I live in Newfoundland, Canada and I am sure there are guns in fifty to seventy per cent of homes and this shit just doesn’t happen here or anywhere else in Canada for that matter. My hearts goes out to these people who have lost loved ones.
Yes it's something we Americans have to ask ourselves.
The sheer number of tragedies is HORRIBLE!!
We can study and solve this problem.
Why do we have school shootings & mass shootings?
How many school shooters and mass shooters had all the warning signs
and could have been stopped!
In my opinion quite a few!!!
We can solve the problem!
I know we can.
I think if firearm sellers are held responsible criminally & face jail time if they
sell guns to the mentally ill or convicted felons that would be good!
But we need a robust national mental health system that is not controlled by insurance companies!
I do believe in the constitutional right to bare arms.
I believe people have the right to defend themselves, their families and their homes.
But this MUST be balanced by a very robust mental health system.
AND we have to get illegal guns of the street and out of the hands of the mentally unstable and criminal SOMEHOW!!!
We don't have enough mental health professionals at the moment,
nor the social systems to deal with the post Covid mental health crisis.
Isolation is VERY bad for people.
Young people especially...but our elderly as well.
We are social animals. We are people who need people to feel good. That's in our DNA.
It's not good for alienated and bullied young people to sit at home playing video games.
We need to know our neighbors like we used to.
Unfortunately, advertising encourages people to separate instead of come together.
Because companies make big profits on the idea that each family has to have one of everything.
We are not encouraged to share resources because that takes $$ out of the pockets of
Monopoly corporations....But sharing and caring builds social bonds and strong communities.
Bottom line is we have to care enough to know our neighbors.
And of course people make money selling guns...a business like any other.
The gun trade has to be regulated.
The only other country who has more guns per capita than we do is Yemen.
If you own a gun or sell guns, in my opinion, you have to be VERY VERY responsible and follow the laws on gun ownership.
We don't have douchebag politicians and lobbyists preaching fear and lies.

Absolutely correct.
It is the corporate media that is, in part, fueling the fear crisis the mental health crisis.
Advertising has taken an antisocial turn....the media doesn't just advertise products.
The whole of "news" reporting is an advertisement for a society that isn't working well for the most of us.
It is just plain CRAZY! There is no such thing as "reporting" anymore it always has an agenda.
So the corporate media is the mouth piece preaching fear and lies, obviously.
Creating an "us against them" mentality of every household against the other.
Our news bolsters on the negative. You will her 50 to 1 about negative although reality is 400 to 1 positive with these situations.
Good thing I teach my kids (aged 14, 13, 10, 9, 3 and 2) how to handle and use guns. They know proper handling and shooting with shotguns, pistols, ARs, rifles and of course bb guns.
I've got a couple of questions.... #1 if there is supposedly no registry on guns and gun owners. How we're they able to track the owner of a gun from it's serial number? As far as I understand the agency that is processing the back round checks are supposed to get rid of the application within like 3weeks or something like that, no matter if it's been allowed or denied. That unless you have a concealed gun permit, then you have to turn over all of the serial numbers. I guess also if you report your firearm stollen. Second I agree it's a tragedy that her daughter was shot and killed. Thecdouche was supposed to do a background check. He would of already of been denied. So how is changing the back round check information ever would of made any difference in her situation? The law she should of been trying to change IN MY OPINION should be giving way harsher punishments to any goober that sells a gun in a store without a background check. The consideration isn't there initially for hunting and for target practice. Some people need to read it again...
The serial numbers on firearms sent from the manufacturer to the gun store - those numbers are kept. So when the police come across a firearms, the contact the manufacture who tells them which gun store/distributer they sold it to. They then go to that gun store, who must according ATF rules, keep a physical copy of the information from the gun sale for every gun they sell.
I challenge anyone to propose a law that would have stopped any of the mass shootings in the past 20 years. Post the law & explain in detail how it would have stopped it......

@@MohamedTarek-zj2zs Most mass shootings are done with pistols. Even if ar15's are banned, what are you going to do about the millions of them already in American hands?
Unfortunately there to many states that restrict law biding citizens from owning a gun that they can carry on their person such as my state of N.Y.
Remember when you outlaw guns only outlaws will have them.

False. Over 2,000,000 violent crimes are stopped by legally armed people in the United states every year.
I mean it’s not even about those who do own a gun really it’s about those who can get a hold of their guns usually it’s a family member or a friend etc coz they haven’t kept their gun(s) safe and secure, and the ones who sell them are freaking idiots full stop! I’m at a loss that they actually do sell these killer weapons and off the street in the boot of a car and so on, no offence to anyone but it’s plain and simple, just don’t fecking own one, I know they get it for safety reasons also but safety my arse, it just kills and kills, the shooting range shouldn’t be available to the public guns shouldn’t be sold period. Aw it’s for this and that, yeah right okay. I don’t know I’m just confused why they think it’s fun in the first place I mean shite, get a water pistol now that’s fun, I mean it’s like oops I got them now their wet and not dead etc! Just wets and had fun with it! Over all I really do hope that we get to make a difference with it all, even if it just that 1% at least it’s a start and maybe just maybe it’s helped before a certain someone decides to go and do something but coz of the change in the law they’re unable to do so, which saves someone’s or many lives in due course, my heart really does go out to everyone and those who are lost and especially for no reason too! American logic : There are few drownings in pools around neighbourhood , so politicians in that city say : We will build pool at every house in our beautiful city because more pools means less drownings so our kids can be saved.

As someone that did background checks for the Saint Louis Police Dept, they would grant felonies with CCW violations, armed criminal robbery and murder. If their histories were forty pages they could get a CCW from Florida and they would tell me that. Did CCW backgrounds on thousands that had a very violent history. If this is my fight song it would be this.

The bs above might allow you to get a consealed carry PERMIT but does NOT allow a felony to purchase a gun. Anyone can get a permit, go to the range, etc. But it's illegal to buy a gun of youre a felon. Therefore logic would say if a criminal has a gun, they have broken the law at least a second time.

Very biased. Propaganda from a "neutral" channel. I vote to give everyone a gun voucher to let them equip themselves. Bad guys with guns are usually stopped by good guys with guns. Get one and learn how to use it.

Every one who manufactures ,buy's, trades, and or sells any and all weapons what so ever should have to go through a full a psychological profiling and vetting, like we had to do. The profiling we went through, did not even have any thing to do with weapons. We like the idea of smart guns, recall all of the functioning ( not antiques ) weapons to be re fit with finger print and hand grip pressure tech. The unit would not be able to fire unless it has fresh batteries. Only one problem is the criminal insane are very clever and can find there way around such things.
There is not one state in America where you don’t have to do a background check to purchase a firearm. Anti gun rhetoric would like you to think that isn’t the case.

As an Australian I can only conclude that the US is a basket case.
I'm certainly not against the necessary ownership of firearms. I once had a rifle for hunting while travelling in the 70s and 80s. Back in those days we didn't have MacDonalds in every town and hunting was a necessity. Many Australians have guns to put down injured stock or to deal with wild pigs. These are, by and large, responsible rural folk, not paranoid city workers. Why anyone would need a firearm in the city is beyond my comprehension.
What firearms were they thinking of when they wrote the 2nd amendment, surely, they would have been flintlocks and not AK-47s.
