I get what why you may think it's a conflict of interest, but as someone who works at a law firm and has to do conflict checks, it is not a conflict for the lawyers on opposite sides to be related. A conflict would be if one of the attorneys had previously represented someone involved in the case but is representing a different party in the current case. So if Mark had previously represented Tom and is now representing Rachel, that would be a conflict of interest because he has privileged information on the parties involved. Hiring a lawyer who has a good relationship with opposing counsel is actually beneficial because it makes negotiations go much smoother. So Tom was smart to hire the brother so that the settlement talks could be cordial if they go that route.

I AM educated and experienced; there’s absolutely no conflict of interest for ethical attorneys who plan to keep their licenses to practice law. There’s a reason Mark Geragos is a popular celebrity lawyer.
I am an attorney. It is not a conflict in any way shape or form. It would be a conflict if the two attorneys were part of the same firm, which they are not (I just looked it up). They both have separate firms with separate offices. It would also be a conflict if either of the attorneys had ever represented either of these individuals in the past either separately or as a couple. There is no presumption that these two relatives would be risking their law licenses to do something shady or underhanded. These attorney's have ethical obligations to the client's that they represent that trump any sort of outside relationship. As a lawyer you protect your client's rights and confidentiality against all outside forces. Wild hyenas couldn't pull certain information out of me, so a sister, brother, husband or child isn't going to be able to get me to speak about things that are private, it is the bedrock of our profession and we take it very seriously.
It is similar to a Doctor. They have ethical obligations that they must adhere to in order to keep their license and most would not risk that to break their oath, and lose their ability to practice, even for family. You might know one of the doctors from Botched, and you might bring your friend there for some surgery. During the course of the treatment the doctor discovers your friend has an illness that he does not want you to know about. It ends there. The doctor can not discuss that patient with you...despite the fact that you referred him and the doctor is your friend. Even if the doctor thinks its in the patient's best interest to have family members and friends help him and face the illness together. It is simply not allowed.

He’s right, it’s not a conflict of interest under the law. The judge would’ve had one of the lawyers dismissed for the conflict long ago if there was one. It’d only be a conflict (generally) if the brothers still worked in the same firm, or if Mark/his firm previously represented Ariana or Sandoval, or if the brother previously represented Ariana or Raquel.
Not a conflict of interest. Technically, they’re not supposed to discuss the case outside of court.

Neither brother has represented the other party in previous litigation, they don’t work at the same firm and most certainly informed their respective clients of their familial relationship prior to agreeing to take the case/continuing to represent their respective clients in this matter.
I believe if any woman wants a baby & not married & can afford to have one this way go for it! There is nothing more fulfilling than having your own child. Married or in a relationship or not! ❤

She’s obviously a loving mother but it might rip the kid’s heart out when she doesn’t have a dad on Father’s Day or at the daddy daughter dance. There are lots of successful people who were raised by a single parent but I’ve never heard one of them say how lucky they were to only have one
I think the attorney situation between Rachel and Tom is totally a conflict of interest. And as far as Lala has another baby by sperm donor, hey, more power to her. Would it be better to have a mom and a dad who didn't get long and fought all the time in front of the child, or went through a messy divorce and fought over the child legally? Or maybe they just can't afford another child? This is what she didn't want to deal with, And Lala can afford another child, and seems to be a great mom, so let her be. I agree they don’t get to decide who gets to be a parent. There are plenty of just single mothers that fathers aren’t even in the children’s life on top of other types of couples all around so if someone wants to have a child is perfectly capable of providing for that child they should be able to have my opinion.
My grandson had a friend with two moms..I do believe it was harder on him than other kids. Just stating fact….not saying how I feel. The boy wasn’t very popular in school, but my grandson was nice to him…. The boy was just a strange child. I remember him crying because my grandson had a birthday gift and he didn’t have one. The friendship didn’t last….not due to anything other than this boy was troubled. Sad for him! The moms were a bit weird too…

I’m Portuguese and I have never heard of the word Sosa. It does not mean salt water, it’s not even a word. It can possibly come from the Portuguese surname Sousa. Saying it comes from a Portuguese phrase “salsa água” that apparently means “from salted water” is something I’ve never heard. If anything “salsa água” means parsley water and salted water is água salgada. I can’t with Lala 🤦🏻♀️

I have to agree with you even if it technically isn't a conflict of interest,I agree it is and it's odd unless Tom believes he can benefit from it as being brothers they will sort it out quickly or they could slow it down for their own benefit.
Not every sibling relationship is like yours. For all you know they don't speak about work together at all. Not on anyone's side but disappointed you took that view.
