I owned the CC and the C1.I much prefer the single channel CC.I like that the tubes are chassis mounted as well.Seems a better build.

The amp now sounds beautiful, Lyle. Nice Vox chime in the tops.

Wow lol. Was about to say, you had the master on 10 and turned up the Top Boost volume half way and it was that quiet ! lol 1:38 in. Thats very wimpy, even for a 15 !

I have a newer AC15 C1 and have been thinking about mods I can do, so this is pretty fascinating!

Nothing I did on this Custom Classic applies to the Custom.

@@PsionicAudio Can you do a video on the AC15C1 one day and give your thoughts/mods on them?

Why bias at a particular plate dissipation at idle? Why not just bias at 35mA as per the Mullard datasheet for push -pull (non ultra linear)

Great review! Just received an ac15CC1x used as a gift.
    1. I immediately noticed no break up or any gain at all when I crank the volume and master at 10. Tremolo works and eq.
Took a peek at the tubes and it had electro harmonix for the 12ax7s and el84s tubes. Im not an amp guy so I have no testers to test them.
    2. Reverb has way too much long decay. I would have to set it at 1 or 2 but anything past it is not enjoyable.
I play mostly early Beatles stuff and worship.
Just giving you the gist of the situation, should I just leave the tubes alone since I play mostly clean or is there potential internal amp damage that needs service now before others start breaking down the road?
For the reverb, I haven't had a chance to look at it cause it has a leather cover affixed to it. Would swapping it to an accutronics solve the long decay?
    Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Im wanting to love this amp as its my first vox even with the stock chinese blue speaker just bummed ouy.
I recall your other vudeo that you have a connection with an amp guy in Edmonton Alberta? Im in Calgary is there a way to contact him as well?
    Thanks so much. Seeking hope😂

You have one or more weak tubes. Find my buddy Chris Church at Church Audio. He can sort that inexpensively and probably find you a tank more to your liking.

What if the hum never go away in start up? I know its a can of worms question.

Great video! Would an eq pedal tame those super unpleasant highs with this amp if I don’t have the means to mod it?

Have you ever looked into Top Hat EL84 type amps? Curious to know your thoughts about them. In particular the Club Royale or Supreme 16.

What would be a good tube to get the most gain from my Vox Ac15ch head? Position also. Please and thank you. I just found your channel but your no bs approach is awesome.
    New sub.

Thanks! Order JJ ECC83s from TubeDepot.com and pay the minor upcharge for high gain tubes (they sort for this).

Hi thanks for the video, which brand of input jack (part number etc) did you use for the repair? Thanks

I used a Neutrik but a Cliff would also fit. Mono switched chrome noised PCB footprint.

Ok thanks, so you are able to ground the mounting nut with this input jack ?

Yes, you put the new jack in, put its two fiber washers over the bushing, then put on the metal ring and solder it in place. Works perfectly.
