people love corey coz hes a real dude with a real attitude to everything. dont even have to be a fan of his bands to relate or enjoy his personality or opinion, genuine humble dude gotta love it
I love how down to fuckin earth and likable let alone a fuckin interesting honest person, he is one artist I have 100% respect for him and for all the incredible material he's made. here's hoping he'll be around for many many years to go, he's gonna be still relevant in another 20 years.
I literally just came across this because i searched joe rogan corey Taylor. Joes pc with James hettfield i thought was really interesting. Regardless of what people think of his music, James is a fucking great dude, very kind, humble, and intellegent.
If I haven't ever loved him before, I love him even more now. Just...the way he thinks, he's so concise and just thorough with his answers and he's honest for the most part! And it's true, people here in U.S. compartmentalize music here and that's crazy talk. We don't have to listen and stick to just ONE genre. I know I don't! I listen to just about everything. In fact, I think I've tasted all different types of music and just listen to whatever I'm feeling, whatever moves me whether that's Opeth, Slipknot, to Philip Glass or even Chopin. My musical tastes are just as diverse as anything else I like.
Corey Taylor is amazing! He is so smart and I agree with so much of what he says! Slipknot & Stone Sour are amazing live wanna see the stand up show! Corey is the best!
I remember always liking Stone Sour and being completely ignorant of the fact that the lead singer of SS was also the lead singer of Slipknot. That was mindblowing to me in such an amazing way. Now I'm dying to see both of those bands live.
Loved this! was hoping you'd post the full interview, glad that ya did. Corey Taylor rocks. He's such a cool guy ( as well as Opie & Jimmy...still miss the O,A&J trio ) Anyway, thanks Op!
What I can't get my head around is that someone can be the front man of two major bands and not be that well known by the masses. Goes to show how zombified the masses are.
It speaks to the point he was making about how nowadays if you come out of the right cooch and simply have a reality show, you're famous. It doesn't take talent or creativity anymore.
The problem is hes in a Heavy Metal band and a rock band. What are the masses listening to right now? Rap and Hip Hop/ Forms of Hip Hop. People don't stray to Heavy Metal because people find the unknown weird. Which its just music. His main problem is he isn't main stream because of his music.
Not gonna lie. I've watched the first 10 minutes every night for the last month. I keep falling asleep...I'm not bored, his voice is just easy to fall asleep to.
I liked the whole thing... especially the bladder-litmus test at 38:30- didn't know my cup was full and almost pissed my pants.... Thanks guys, haven't laughed that hard in a while
"if I start thinking too far into the future, I'm fucked." And that statement is so relatable. One thing I had to learn in recovery from alcohol...one day at a time.
Finally met someone who's angrier than myself! His sense of self-honesty about his own idiosyncrasies are refreshing, which makes it so funny and not harsh! No shame, all game!!
Six people disliked this video...I think the one caller who was bashing Corey made six different accounts just to dislike this video more then once lol. Loved this interview, good laughs and always find Corey to be knowledgeable and funny!
"Axl has more talent in his pinkie then you have in your entire body" "That's a good example sir you sound like an old lady" dead X_X I literally laughed out loud at that and my bf looked at me like a I was crazy XDDD
Super cool guy. I went to a festival and he hung out with fans at the gate and shot the shit, Rob Zombie was there too. He was an ass and pointedly ignored fans. Smh, Corey litterally had to be yelled at to come on it was time to go on stage.
I'm only finding these awesome interviews recently. How fking cool is Corey Taylor. And that volley at 9:00 between all three with a Jim Norton slam dunk at the end made me laugh so hard. It doesn't get better than that.
I love how at 27:57 Opie had to mention how that's his hometown and then a few seconds later Jimmy had to get a passive aggressive dig at him That's why Jimmys the best
13:57 Well there's this short video of Corey taking a cellphone from a dude on the front row and he's just like "yeah, all right, my bad I guess" Legendary
25:23 He's talking about how the younger generation will only listen to one style/genre of music, except for heavy metal fans. I've certainly noticed this. My top 3 styles of music that I enjoy the most are: 1: Nu-metal (I prefer that sound of metal over everything; Slipknot, SOAD, Static, Korn, etc. One day I actually sat down and listed all my favorite metal artists, and looked at what styles of metal they're defined as on Wikipedia and wrote down them all and found the one common genre, and it happened to be nu-metal and I believe alternative metal. I looked at the actual definition of both and found nu-metal is definitely more my style). 2: Heavy dubstep (not that poppy/rappy, vocal, soft stuff. I'm talking like gritty sounding stuff, or like the artist SYN). 3: 90s alt rock (90s had the best decade of music in my opinion; Nirvana, Audioslave, Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc). What are your favorite genres?
My god. Seeing Corey drinking water made me want water. And I'm not that fond of water. I suddenly got an insane urge to drink lot's and lot's of water.
14:55 very relevant for what's going on in the world today. I love that Corey speaks his mind, no matter who he offends to stand up for the ones that get pushed to the side. Fucking rock on
Ideas for Corey's next books: "My music is better than yours! Why pop music should be flushed down the toilet" or "You listen to Slayer and you love it! Why I refuse to abuse my kids with pop music"
such an inspiration man, he has such great views on the younger generation and everything he says you can't fault him on because he can back his sh*t up! He's also been through some tough times and come out of it a stronger, better person. I'd love to meet him and just have an intellectual conversation with the man!
I agree with him and I love him... I however do not agree with his point that heavy metal fans are the most open minded when it comes to music... All the metal shows I've been to... most of the metalheads there cringe when I mention any music genre that isn't metal.
***** I think corey means the new generation of metalheads. Between 10-25 aged metalheads where i belong too :D I personally have noticed that the people who are born in '80s or '70s are not very open minded, cause they are used to listen to metallica, slayer, black sabbath etc and doesn't wanna hear any new type of metal or music, like hip hop and pop. But the current generation is totally different, even the bands who are mixing up hiphop and metal like limp bizkit and slipknot in some cases.
Vampiregirl Real metal heads? How about you can be a metalhead and like what music you want without judgements from people who say "real metalheads don't " because those who feel that they have metal superiority are actually insecure posers?
slipknot fans vs west fans thing sounds kinda funny when tv behind them starts to show footage from Iraq or something with us troops engaging in firefight
K1lgore 23 corey admits to a hip hop influence in this interview ,listen again maybe. There are all kinds of "rap" just the same as all kinds of "rock".
I'm a metal head at the core, but, I listen to literally every kind of music. Good music is good music, regardless of genre. I like calling myself a metal head, but I really hate the whole genre thing. Just play me something good
"Sids running down the hall naked. Clowns talking about the cosmos." Im dying 😂😂

people love corey coz hes a real dude with a real attitude to everything. dont even have to be a fan of his bands to relate or enjoy his personality or opinion, genuine humble dude gotta love it

he really should get on the JoeRoganExperience, i think that would make a awesome fucking conversation.
I literally just came across this because i searched joe rogan corey Taylor. Joes pc with James hettfield i thought was really interesting. Regardless of what people think of his music, James is a fucking great dude, very kind, humble, and intellegent.
Absolutely
Im down with it!!!!!

@@AltFreak25 Too bad he's letting all of that get to his head thinking he owns slipknot and everyone els is "hired musicians" in his band
@@oweeeen what makes you think that?
At 9:10, i love how corey can joke about paedophiles and nambla with what happened when he was a kid.
Alternativegamer99 There was consent in that situation though
yep he was sexually abused by an older friend (16 years) when he was 10 years old :(
yup...
King of the Dragons incorrect
Very incorrect
Loved this! was hoping you'd post the full interview, glad that ya did.
Corey Taylor rocks. He's such a cool guy ( as well as Opie & Jimmy...still miss the O,A&J trio ) Anyway, thanks Op!
Corey Taylor loves Bad Brains!! Not that I needed another reason to love Corey Taylor, but I'll take it.
Who doesn’t love bad brains
Corey's rainbow in the dark cover is amazing
What I can't get my head around is that someone can be the front man of two major bands and not be that well known by the masses. Goes to show how zombified the masses are.
Yup. I’ll be honest tho. It took me a year to realize Corey in slipknot and Corey in stone sour was the same Corey
4killerCurtis as a woman......me and many others disagree
Supplemental Sense everybody knows who Corey Taylor. Even rappers know who Corey Taylor is
It speaks to the point he was making about how nowadays if you come out of the right cooch and simply have a reality show, you're famous. It doesn't take talent or creativity anymore.

I love it when there talking about the gnr and a reunion. It literally happened like a year after this interview
Not gonna lie. I've watched the first 10 minutes every night for the last month. I keep falling asleep...I'm not bored, his voice is just easy to fall asleep to.

I really wanna see that video of the Über driver listening to Hatebreed
Corey voice is so awesome. Still has the most badass vocals in Metal imo.
Oh I can swear? FUCK

Thanks for these Opie. Stepped away for a bit but the shows have been great lately.
But what does Corey taylor think about what Corey taylor said in his interview
Two people I love the most in the same room? Who could say no.
Corey is the fucking man, you can be sure you'll be entertained with him around!
Corey is such a genuine person
"if I start thinking too far into the future, I'm fucked." And that statement is so relatable. One thing I had to learn in recovery from alcohol...one day at a time.
34:07 Corey making a conscious effort to not bring up “The Hot Bag”
27:55
Opie: "That's my home town"
28:15
Jim: "That's my birthday, just making it about me which is always good during an interview."
Holy shit this is still funny as hell and still relevant this many years later.
Finally met someone who's angrier than myself! His sense of self-honesty about his own idiosyncrasies are refreshing, which makes it so funny and not harsh! No shame, all game!!
when the guy brought up the crown of thorns that Kanye wore I wonder if Corey thought about Joey while laughing
Six people disliked this video...I think the one caller who was bashing Corey made six different accounts just to dislike this video more then once lol. Loved this interview, good laughs and always find Corey to be knowledgeable and funny!
Then he saw your comment and decided to make 12 more lol.
Now it's 18 so he probably made 12 more just to give him what for. haha
Kanye and axl made a lot of accounts just to dislike

I wasn't sure at first....but now I love Jim Norton
Corey Taylor seems like a nice bloke. Never quite got into Slipknot's music though.
Super cool guy. I went to a festival and he hung out with fans at the gate and shot the shit, Rob Zombie was there too. He was an ass and pointedly ignored fans. Smh, Corey litterally had to be yelled at to come on it was time to go on stage.
