The thing that made Harris such a cool character was that he had this almost omniscient, matter-of-fact way about him. He always had a calm insight into something that would cause Sam, Neal, and Bill to flip out.
One of the greatest scenes in the series. Only real people can see it. I have hardly ever seen a show with realistic, and non-artificial characters. And seen those characters do what is in this scene. I love the moments where the freaks collide with the geeks, but I especially love this scene, which is heavy, and transcendent in a sort of subtle way. This is one of the most rarest, and positive moments in any series, that I find important. And is such a special scene. I love this scene. It teaches the audience, that you don't have to conform to only certain groups, and conform to authority and society. You can be yourself, and break boundaries, and connect with people from different cultures, and different groups, and cliques. An important part of life is not only interacting, and relating with people, but also with people who you won't believe you can share common ground with you. And that is a beautiful, and rare thing.
"This long-black-haired kid was in the corner reading a fantasy book or something, had such an interesting look. Turns out he was there with a friend of his, just came along. “Do you want to come in and read?” We gave him the speech, and he just did it in his inimitable way, kind of tossing it off. And it was a moment of like, “Holy shit, I don’t know what to do with this kid, but we got to put him in the show somehow.” Then Judd goes, “All I know is, his name has to be Harris.”" - Paul Feig
this is such a great scene this series never put the people just in stereotypes and said like: Harris - that's the nerd, Daniel - that's the cool guy but he does bad in school, Millie - she is a mathlete and a total geek and that's Alan - he's the bully of Sam and his friends The show always showed different perspectives on each of the characters and explained why the are like they are
Millie comes across like the judgmental Christian girl, but you kinda realize as the show goes on that she genuinely believes what she believes (not just to lord it over people) and she's a ride-or-die. A little socially oblivious and maybe a tad sanctimonious, but the type of person good to have in your corner.
you know if the show went on more seasons Harris would have had a Girlfriend by the end of season 2 plus Daniel became his buddie . and he would have helped him out .

Love how Daniel is always assumed to be this mean scary guy but (even though he can be pretty toxic in other ways) he's not a bully. He sees a geeky kid reading a fantasy book and he doesn't want to pummel him, he's just curious. Also when Lindsay tries to downplay her academic awards, he encourages her to be proud of them.
@@deathsheadhawkmoths same 😢❤ I recently watched the series for the who knows what time and I always come back to this scene. I think Daniel was a complex character who had a lot of potential. I'm actually not surprised he ends up with Lindsay. Those two were destined for each other from day one.
