You ever consider that maybe people who thumbs down the content, are giving a thumbs down to the subject of drugs themselves.
I lost family and friends to opiates. Had to unsuccessfully attmpt to resuscitate a friend that overdosed, and died.
Dealers like this guy, have sold drugs that have ruined lives, ruined families, and killed people, especially kids.
Regardless if the message is positive, this man got lucky. Most people don't. Some people probably take offense to that idea.
Or, maybe people expected to hear "badass" stories about dealing drugs. It's glorified in rap culture, especially to young, curious, impressionable kids.
Btw: I liked the video. Just giving a different perspective.

@Dom P Definitely!!! It's not our place to judge anyone and it's VERY easy to end up homeless or whatever the case is we all need to be kind to each other! We ALL bleed the same! No matter what race, color, religion, creed, etc...we can always do better!!✌🙏

@@jamesortiz6356 He knows that I'm sure...But he's doing everything he can and probably more to change and be the one helping those people/families to be and do better and THAT kind of change was NOT easy in the least. It would have been SO much easier to keep dealing n making a hell of a lot more money than he is helping those people but he didn't choose easy he chose to start ALL over and what he's doing means SO much to SO many!!✌🙏

Right now my son is at a place called the dream center in los Angeles. He has been on one thing or another since he was 14. I tried everything, but he would pick the streets and drugs and drinking every time over help. He has lived on the streets, over dosed 4 times, jumped off of a building and survived, he was left for dead in someones car, he asperated and was revived, someone punched him so hard and broke his jaw, his mouth was wired shut for almost 3 months. His jaw and side of his face have so much titanium in them, and so much more all before his 19th birthday. It doesnt matter what color, or size, or sex or any of that. Some times even with a good upbringing addiction and evil is out there. He has been at the center for 7 months now and has been without alcohol and drugs. I dont know how he is even alive today, but God has bigger plans for him. I'am so proud of him. He is my angel. There is nothing in this life that I love more than my son. Thank God for you and these places that take these kids in and teach them that there is a better way. Much love and respect to you, Keep doing what your doing. You are a miracle for someone like me and my son.

His father divorced me after 23 years. My son was a senior in high school when his Dad left. He eventually went to live with his Dad, but his Dad was always paying attention to new women in his life, and he preached he was a christian, My son really down spireled after that. He lost 3 friends in 5 years to drugs and alcohol, My mom, he loved so much and was very close to died last july, and my 2 brothers the year before. Its been the hardest years for all of us. I get to talk to him 1 time a week, for 15 min, and he is doing good. I sleep at night knowing he is there. thank you for the good words!

We been in Hawaii since we was 18 and never left

Out of all the stories brotha yours is my favorite Carlos, you’re making a new name for yourself no matter what. Takes a real man to admit he had failures (lessons) but decided to make changes even though it took a while. No matter if you fall on hard times don’t give up. Remember the inspiration and lessons you give those kids, remember the role model they see in you, remember the huge change you’ve made. It’s easy to fall back into old ways but it’s harder in the long run. You’re saving lives by doing the work you are. May you be protected and safe while following your higher powers plan. Whether you drink or not the first soda or beer is on me if we ever cross paths.

My mother is a pediatric nurse at the unm hospital for well over 20 years. They give their hearts and souls and ask for nothing in return from the people of the city. Maybe a story about those men and women and what they do at that hospital would be amazing. 20 years of Albuquerque anything can be tough I’d imagine. Those people their are the strongest most loving you will ever meet in your life.

Mom taught 1 of his kids. I helped out at the school and saw him around a bit. Wasn't til about a year later I brought leftover food from a homeless feeding thing I help out with to a park that takes the homeless to heading home. I talked to him for a bit and I have to say he's a really nice, friendly, quiet person. I asked my mom a bit more about him and she said him and his Ex would come in to the kindergarten class and they would play hide and seek with the kids. Cool dude glad he's sharing his story!

I commend this young man for being a positive influence to both young and older people. He has turned his life around not only for himself but for others. One word comes to mind when it comes to his past life story and the present and that is "Unselfish". He has given back and has also touched my heart and many others. I wish you the best because the best is yet to come. God has granted and given you a huge heart and soul. Those 2 gifts will give you the life you never imagined having. God Bless You in every endeavor you wish to take on. Much love and respect. 🙏🙏

As a Burqueno, and one who suffers the effects of addiction on families and loved ones, I appreciate these ethnographies. I also have come to recognize how the admiration of the struggle seems to establish a romance for the struggle, appearing to encourage youth to iconify the tragic, even as going as far as desiring it, aka "mi vida loca". Tragedy does not have to be the path, often the tragedy is convenient and accessible, shinning light on the efforts put into undoing neglect, abuse, poverty, ignorance, learning to trust, love, and practicing to be responsible are the hardship. I hope there are efforts/stories to highlight the support and services that go into learning life skills that provide the needed changes that transcend these tragedies into prosperities. I hope we learn to honor the social stewardship as much as we idolize the individual struggle, or the "vida loca". Keep telling these stories. I hope Carlos can recognize the people and systems who contributed to his opportunities as there is never anyone who has done it alone. con/safo!
