I don’t remember hearing anyone say, “most of what Odegaard tries doesn’t come off” But that would be so far from the truth cause I see him as such an effective controller of the ball and play. He’s pretty creative, not quite like an Ozil could (tbf who can) but he’ll make the right decisions, shimmy, play 1-2’s, play a threaded pass when there’s space, work his ass off and help you dominate . It’s why I love him in this deeper role as more of a proper 8. You look at someone like Bruno Fernandes who can do something spectacular but then he’ll be so wasteful and is probably one of the big problems with United’s style of play and their lack of ability to control games. Give me an Odegaard over those inconsistent sort of players every day of the week in this era of footy! You can’t get away with just being a creative attacking midfielder now. I bet Dennis loves watching him play..✨
I love Martin and think he's probably the best in his position in the league outside of De Bruyne, but he is very one-footed. He really avoids using his right foot at all cost. Good job his left is an absolute wand.
Odegaard is a calm and cool captain. He's not like Fernandes who spends his whole time whining. Odegaard supports and helps his team mates. He doesn't blame. I guess it's his Scandinavian upbringing.
People don't seem to understand how Atteaa is using Havertz. Havertz is Arteta's Haaland but without the goals. Havertz creqtes so much problems for teams defensively.

Folks under Pep at Barcelona said they were surprised how regimented and choreographed so much of his play was. Often it isn’t freewheeling and creativity, it just looks like that. Thierry Henry often pointed this out about Guardiola teams, only in the final pass/final third if you’re lucky is it not all a ‘set piece’. Watching Arsenal at Sheffield made me think of this. Much of it looked choreographed and planned. It certainly had an air of inevitability about it. To me this only makes it more brilliant and exceptional. Every time Arsenal (we!) play now it’s, streak to end or not a streak at all but just a big step forward! I for one am loving how carefully choreographed it all looks! Much will be clearer by end of month. Hell, much will be clearer by end of weekend!
Most Arsenal followers are so pleased and cross-fingered that Partey is available again and looks fit. He probably hasn’t got 90 mins in him but he is fucking World Class when he’s concentrating and fit. He’s that rare creature, a ball-carrier who plays with his head up and can also chew gum. This run has nothing to do with a good run of fixtures. We had to play Liverpool and Newcastle in moments where we had to win against Liverpool to stay within touching distance of the title and having to beat Newcastle after an inauspicious loss to Porto. We've also beaten City this season as well and drew at Anfield. Arsenal are a resilient team. People keep thinking that we'll bottle it based on the analogy of what happened last season. What they conveniently choose to ignore is we're playing the best football atm. Which team currently is best both offensively and defensively? Who scores the most from set pieces? Off the ball, we're the fastest at retrieving possession. We're also the best pressing team. Liverpool have never experienced such complete domination by a team in the last 7 years, even when City were at their peak. This Arsenal team is special and even if we don't win it this season the predictable football tribalism will laugh and call us bottlers again, but the reality is Arsenal are on the verge of dominating this league over the next few seasons.

I've seen a couple of their games (especially the ones against Liverpool) and they always looked like a title contender. The big question for Arsenal is if they can win more games than City, because I doubt City will drop many points.

It’s interesting you say that at the start of the season most Arsenal fans would have expected the team to evolve this way. I’m not sure that’s necessarily right. They almost won it last season with the youngest team in the league. That team maturing and adding Rice was always going to add the stability that was missing last season. The frustration at the start of the season was the goals not coming easily. It takes time to gel a new approach and it’s in full flow now though. Whether they win anything this season or not, Arsenal will remain one of the best teams in the world for the next five years as their foundations are now rock solid.
