    I have been using green glass wine bottles with the skinny necks cut off for some little plants and not one lick of algae develops. I enjoy seeing all the roots so I am happy it is see through.

    If I have an overabundance of greens, I blend them with as little water as possible in the blender and freeze it in huge cube trays that hold about 1/2 cup each in each cube and use them in smoothies and sauces.

    Keep up the good work buddy! I follow you also due to your mission to garden without plastic. It is definitely not easy, but there may be a way to find out ;)
    Have you ever thought about Bamboo pipes as container where multiple greens can grow with hydroponics?

    • @KeepOnGrowin
      @KeepOnGrowin  8 месяцев назад +3

      Thank you. Yes on the bamboo. The only problem is price for the size I need. I will eventually do that but in the spirit of the channel and my mission, I am trying the cheap and easy route first to help more people. I appreciate the input, it's what keeps the wheels turning in my head.

    Thanks Mike. You are amazingly creative and tireless. I admire your generous spirit and appreciate all the tips. I grow microgreens and have followed some of your ideas to turn a few oif them into baby greens. Several years ago I had to leave my huge organic garden behind and now live in an apartment with very little sun and a small balcony.
    I am hoping to be able to incorporate some of your ideas this summer on the East facing balcony. South would be ideal but beggars cant be choosers 🙂
    Wishing you good health and prosperity.

    I really enjoy your videos. I have been so successful growing peas with clay pebbles thanks to you. Question: why would someone say “that Kratky is to easy to introduce phatagins into my microgreens”? I’ve grown Kratky in the past for salad greens and such. Thanks in advance and keep these videos coming!!!!

    • @KeepOnGrowin
      @KeepOnGrowin  8 месяцев назад +3

      People are just saying without knowing. If you let the water that has been sitting for a week get all over your greens and you eat them without cleaning them, then yes. Microgreens are trimmed above that. Sprouts have a high risk of bacteria because they are rinsed and the entire plant gets covered with whatever might be growing in the jar.

    • @pattirobertson4069
      @pattirobertson4069 8 месяцев назад

      @@KeepOnGrowin Thank you. I have a successful growing history of both hydroponic and aeroponic, so so Kratky. But I know to keep light out of the jars (queen of sock jars) and keep the water cool. Thank you for your response. Looking forward to new and better ways. 😁

    Wow, I love the idea of growing in agar-agar. It captures my imagination and I wonder if it increases the protein levels in the plant. Does anybody have a lab and need a research project or science fair project? Does growing medium or growing medium additives change the protein levels of produce?
    As the interest in eating bugs fire protein rises, could you instead add that to the soil? Due to a shellfish allergy I don't see myself eating bugs any time soon but I would be interested in higher protein vegetables.
    Maybe this is already common knowledge and I am just showing my ignorance in not knowing?🤷‍♀️
    Either way, thank you for capturing my imagination.
