- In this video I’m talking about climbing roses - ‘Constance Spry’, ‘Aloha’, ‘Alchymist’, ‘Golden Shower’ and ‘The Pilgrim. They are all amazing.
My name is Claus Dalby, and I live in Risskov on the outskirts of Aarhus in Denmark. To date, I have written about 30 books on flowers and gardens in Danish, and my garden has been featured on many TV shows. In March 2022 my first book in English will be available. I consider my home (built in1908), and its garden with its neighboring wood, as my sanctuary. When I started gardening in 1996, there was just a large lawn covering approximately 1 acre (4,000 square meters), but today the grass is long gone - replaced by 15 hedged rooms with varying colors and moods. Additionally, one of my great passions is growing in pots, arranged to create spectacular container gardens, which I will share quite a bit about on this channel. Decor and creating moods have always interested me - both outside and inside - and I love to use the flowers from my garden for bouquets and to inspire other crafts that create a sense of hygge.

I’ve in Australia and most new gardens just don’t grow them. Mine is full of roses . We have had an amazing reader in the early 20 century here called Alistair Clark, he breed for Australian conditions. One of his in my garden has just had a flush and it is June mid winter! So many beautiful roses- how does one choose ? And they all look so healthy - no bug damage- no yellow leaves . Perfect. I always thought that the most beautiful roses had no fragrance and vice versa but you have proved my theory incorrect. These all look beautiful with excellent fragrances-
Last weekend, I went David Austin garden to buy generous gardeners, climbing flower but to see real, I bought Constant spray, I did not know one time flowering but still very pretty. I love your wall to see lovely flowers, envy you!!!!

I often hear compliments from passers-by on the beautiful display in my suburban garden.
Of course, I see all the weeds yet to be pulled or spent blooms needing deadheading. But I accept their praise and tell them it's my gift to the neighborhood.

Heirloom Roses and Cattail creek gardens both carry pilgrim. One of my favorite also

I love my Abraham Darby rose from David Austin. At first I thought the Alchemist was the same because they look the same. But Abraham is a repeat flowerer. So fragrant.
You can always find perfection in roses easily. Great collection of your roses!

My favourite of these is the Golden Shower, I prefer roses that are slightly open in the middle so that bees can enjoy them 🙂

I so enjoyed watching this video. I may introduce a rose into my garden beds at some point, but I live in south (Tennessee) and the oppressive humidity makes growing roses a bit more difficult without constant spraying of insecticides/fungicides. We also deal with rose rosette disease which will decimate roses.
