I wanted to get you the winter boots on your Amazon wish list but they are no longer listed or in stock. So I'm sending the cost of the boots to you instead. God bless you.
Get some cheap aluminum foil and put it on top of the pot when you’re cooking bro. Your food will cook much faster and it will save your butane! Stay blessed brother!! 💪🏾
@@moonglow7303 dude hippi is getting some of the old school hiking techniques with naglene boiling water trick, and now shower curtain. Did you know this elderly grandmother named grandma gatewood hiked with a shower curtain as a waterproof layer, and I think as her tent. A shower curtain can be bought at the dollar store, which is where I would look for a windshield reflector that is made out of reflectix also. If you see the bubbles in there, it's much better than the flat shiny windshield reflector.
You should get some more cardboard for all the windows and the rear door, to add a layer of insulation. The blinds are only for privacy. You can ask shops or big stores, they might give you some old cardboard boxes. Cardboard has good thermal insulation properties.
I do part time van life, I recommend you use a small trash bin, Walmart has one for 98cents, add a plastic bag and use for trash as well to spit in when brushing teeth, then just toss daily in gas station or store trash can. This will keep mice away while you’re parked as well as not attract attention to possible unhappy people complaining about van lifers. Glad to see you got yourself some reflectics and more blankets. Channel growing ❤. You’re a natural and it’s nice to see how many of your followers care by giving advice. Those hot dogs look yummy! Someone commented to cook the dogs in the chili, save time and money, loved that tip.
I'm sure someone else already mentioned this, but you can get the big propane tanks for your Mr. Buddy heater and an adapter so they will work. Much cheaper to get refills and will last much longer, too. Stay warm!
Please put something over that back windows and get that pup tent for inside. You'll thank the previous poster for that idea! WERE ALL ROOTING FOR YOU HIPPIE 💯🤩🙏
I recommend a Jackery style power bank. It doesn't need to be that named brand, but you want it to be a nice large rectangular power bank for about fifty or sixty dollars. These will have enough to run a low powered heater (something like 200 watts), and is perfect to recharge at a place like a library. Many places will charge your battery bank at the front desk for you, if you ask. The ability to recharge for free is a way to supplement your propane use, because propane is expensive. Someone mentioned a larger propane bottle, but you would need to invest to make that happen. It would be a way to save money during the winter, though. A propane refill of a large bottle is only twenty bucks, and you'll get a TON more propane than two little green ones for fifteen bucks. The difficulty is that you need a twenty dollar hose adapter and a fifty dollar propane bottle (not sure the real propane bottle cost). After that seventy dollar investment, you will be saving money, but it is difficult to spend so much to save some ....... but heating is the most expensive winter thing. If you have propane, then you will be using less gasoline to heat your van. It is a tradeoff. The largest negative of the big propane bottle is the size of the propane bottle itself. You do have a ton of room, so that might not be an issue, but large propane bottle is how people become long term van lifers.
You have the whitest teeth and a great spirit. I am sending you blessings 🙏🙏😇. You are strong and resilient, you will get thru this with flying colors ❤
You would be surprised at how well shutting off a section of your van would help it be warmer. This would be a great reason for a thrift shop trip, so that you can find a cheap blanket or two to minimize the space that is heated.
I'm happy to see you getting things you need to help you stay warm. You could get a hot bottle thing to put in your sleeping bag since you do have a way to heat water. It'll help a lot. Also try and get a big propane tank, it'll last longer.
The bottle that you want to get is called a Nalgene water bottle. These allow you to put boiling water in them, and they are reliable enough to bring into your sleeping bag or bed. I personally would still put it inside a ziploc baggie ....... BUT, boiling water would be a big use of propane. There are alternatives, meaning that you can consider getting boiling water from gas station coffee pot spigots, or microwave the water in the gas stations. Sometimes the gym will have hot water, and you can grab a bottle-load of hot water before bed.
you can also put tarps over the doors for when u go in or out. that way the cold wind is NOT blowing directly into the van. which should make it easier to warm up. but that would make stealth camping harder. Creating a room on the outside will really does help. If no wind is forcing itself inside then thats even better

Make sure you get enough Reflectix to cover your Ceiling as well, not just the windows. Technically heat rises, so even giving it a double layer would probably help dramatically! Also some of those Harbor Freight moving blankets for your floor to have added insulation would help too, even with a layer of Reflectix in between if possible. Sleeping bag is gonna make a huge difference all by itself though! Hopefully the coming storms won’t be too bad! Though you might want to try scoping out a potentially different parking spot if so, one that will give you more protection from the blowing wind/snow. Plenty of State land with thick tree cover, but then you also risk being snowed in if it’s too thick…but plenty of fallen wood to use for a fire to keep warm alternatively 🤷♂️❤️🔥🫂🙏🤞🍀

I have a Mr.Heater, with driver’s window cracked enough for air. I turn it off when I’m going to sleep & like the past few mornings, it’s been in the teens. Am very warm in my bag,(feet stay warm), and wake up to it freaking freezing in here, but I’m happy I’m warm & only have to get up & turn the heat on, if I’m not going to work that day. ( I’ve been out here this time since 2014).
Let me tell you one of the best ways to keep legs warm. I used to ve in the Army and when we went out to the field in the snow, we wore nylon stockings (pantyhose) under our pants, and I tell you the truth it kept me warmer than long johns. The men wore them also.

If you like Pesto Sauce, which you can buy shelf stable at like a walmart, easy with pasta cold or hot. Cheap and easy and tasty. Especially with a bit of salt pepper and parm cheese, the shaker kind is fine or cold pasta salad style is just as tasty, with penne. Can add can of chick peas/meat and something to add a bit of sweetness like bell peppers. Basically, if you like Pesto Sauce, using as little or as much as your like, there is so many things to be made, simple, cheap and tasty. And not much clean up. There is also butter noodles and your choice of spices.
Your videos have great editing. The chili cheese dogs look very tasty. 'Hope today's power bank is useful. Sending blessings, peace, comfort, safety, prosperity, and joy! Hang in there Hippi!
Keep doing ya thing bro. I’m thinking bout living out my car due to my situation. Don’t got a van but got a small jeep. Definitely going to need a fridge, heater and stove!
@UberGuy88 when you said fridge, my mind instantly went to my bad experiences with trying to keep a cooler with food. I just ended up behind more often than not. I do recognize that some of the powered fridges could work for a van build or larger. Likely small plug in fridge are better than they use to be, so I just might be biased against them. Being a backpacker, I find food that doesn't need refrigeration, but fresh milk is better than those other options like powdered milk or box milk. If i had a nice living situation, would I have the power to support a fridge? I eould be curious how much it cost to keep a fridge running, and then evaluating that as money that could have bought more food. If you frequent food pantries, having food storage might save you a bunch of money, because your food is free. I just think people living in cars can easily waste money by trying to conserve food. My method was efficiency, and not refrigeration or ice. I cook with a small backpacking stove called a brs3000 that is cheap and ultralight. This stove also goes with me hiking, and is very reliable. I use to live in south texas, and keeping food cold was a battle. Like I said before, i could just be biased against it. If I had a tiny susten that worked well, perhaps my opinion would change. I also don't have the budget for many things.
Please research how to make your own window covers using reflectix & black fabric or fleece. There are A LOT of van lifers out there who do it in comfort and and style who are NOT lil trust fund babies. Just Rowan(on RUclips) is a good channel and she just did a van tour and My basic Journey (RUclips as well)has a no build van set up. It’s possible to be comfort and cozy. Basically research-RESEARCH whatever issue you need to solve and there is some RUclipsr who has conquered it . Wishing you safe travels.
Next on the list a jackery power bank. And a usb heating blanket. You can charge the power bank at a coffie shop or public library the usual have outlets near by.
Use wool! Nothing is better than wool. Wool blanket and woolen clothes. Synthetics loose their efficiency when damp or wet and are in general not as warm.
I have read that burning propane can add moisture to the air, could add to any condensation issues you might encounter. Gotta watch for mold, living in a tight space such as that, air quality long term is important, also gotta do what you gotta do, I get that.
I use hot water bottles. They’re only about 10$ and they are still warm when I wake up. It’s like having a heated blanket without the need of power. Keep the hustle up. Good luck.
@@NewsViewsAndTruth the thought is enough . You don't need to send especially if you don't have much to spare🙏please the engagement and likes are enough. I got this ♥️ I will get more reflectix soon.
You know what you should do you should put reflectix but also have the half inch of the pink installation on the back of it that way it makes it more warmer for the inside that you have
Get the propane kit to hook up a bigger tank and get a twenty pound tank. A twenty pound tank will last about a hundred hours on low on your Buddy Heater and cost about 12 dollars to fill up.😊 you can also cook with the buddy heater .
You need you a power station. Maybe either #bluetti or #jackery will come across your channel and reach out to sponsor you. That way you could get a dc electric blanket for the real cold nights. Also run your fridge.

get u an anker solix C1000 and a heated blanket. that power bank runs my plug-in-the-wall style heated blanket about 3 sleeps. i also got a plug in the cig-outlet style heated blanket. i sleep in between the two heated blankets laying on top of one. that Anker solix c1000 runs both blankets all night on top of a 1500w $30 heater for 10 or 20 mins if i wake up froze over. that sleeping bag u got is gona help lots too bro bro. i sleep on top of reflectix so i don’t gota heat up a mattress or anything under me with my body heat. wool blankets r cheap at the army surplus store they are fire retardant and moisture wicking. don’t waste your money on a power bank that’s less than 1000 watt hours if u want it to get u thru the night.
Can you park inside a hospital parking lot? It will cut the wind and give the van shelter. Please spit and dispose of cooking liquids in a container. The last thing you need is mice chewing up the wiring due to food and warmth.
jackery for portable power. Great you got the sleeping bag a friend of mine at work would make burritos a night before put them on his car manifold in the morning and they would be warm to eat them at work. Never tried it. Maybe these are the old-school cars maybe not.
Great. Now I want chili-cheese dogs. You sound discouraged. It’s understandable. I feel for you… but I respect the way you keep goin and keep your head up more. Sending prayers 🙏
Man for 10K subs you should do a mukbang video to celebrate and eat all of your favorite foods. Or for any upcoming milestone. I know I would contribute
I have seen people put large bubble bubble wrap in between two layers of reflectix to create an air space along the walls/windows to help keep the cold out and the heat in. Not sure if this really works, but it wouldn't be too expensive to try, especially if you have a roll of reflectix already.
If you ever find yourself on the Western side of Michigan on the lakeshore, hit me up for a safe place to set your van up for a visit. I’m actually two blocks from Lake Michigan and although I’m in the city, I have a decent size plot of land along with a fire pit and a space in the back that the old owners used to store an RV so it will defiantly accommodate a van. 😄. Oh and spring time is also quite nice out here. We have a week long Tulip Time and we get tens of thousands of people come to visit from all over the world! This town is a huge tourist draw! Also, we are only 25 minutes to Grand Rapids! Fun local for a nice visit! I’m from the west too. I’m a Northern California Seasider! Stay warm, good sir! Be safe, Hippi
@ absolutely! Lots of work out here too, but even more in the warmer months. This city I live in is atypical when it comes to securing work in Michigan. Many parts of Michigan have serious shortages of work and people sometimes wait months for temp agencies to get them work. However for the majority of time I’ve lived in this area, a person can hit up a temp agency and gage work in days and they are decent paying. Many start in the $16-$17 range, and quite a few att $19 and up. My partner is currently making $23 an hour and att least 10-18 hrs overtime at $34.50 an hour and if you get hired in and get past the probationary periods, you get paid holidays. By Partner stated there this past summer and he got two days off with pay for thanksgiving and five days of, paid, for new years and Xmas. Plus they all received a December bonus based on your position and time on the job. My partner wasn’t even there an entire year and he received $250 bonus in December. He also has 15 sick days and full insurance after three months. You can add all your dependents to the plan (Blue Cross: Blue Shield) and one person that isn’t married to you. He added me and we aren’t married, but have been together almost seven years. Most places won’t add a partner unless you are married. I know it’s across the state from D-town, but the job market is quite good 95% of the time. Jan Feb and March are the slowest months, but even still, most people can secure work within 1-2 weeks Max. Just some food for thought, brother!
hey hippi, do another sleep stream this weekend. you'lll be an 10k by monday. that snow is my kryptonite 🥶you are brave to fight mother nature! good luck young man
You need to update your Amazon wish list add a power bank you never know how a person will bless you and gift cards some people rather send a gift vs money

Also I think you should buy you like one of them little fold up wagons that you get at Walmart whenever you need to get groceries and you're not using your truck I think one cost about $20 or $30 it depends on how big you want it or you can get the little steel rolling carts that stand up for like 15
You can probably buy a fan as well to ventilate your butane stove from the little small windows and use some type of like funnel as well to direct it towards that
I don't think for butane you have to ventilate that much just crack your window. Same with propane. I saw a video on a Mr. Buddy heater test a fire fighter did. he sat in a RV with all doors and windows closed and a carbon monoxide meter and ran the Buddy full blast until the propane ran out and no alarms went off. Any way wish you the best in your journey Yeah get those windows covered. also a hanging a cheap blanket on the back windows will help as well.
I hesitated to comment but please be careful running your car heat. The father of 2 of my kids slept in his older car in an open parking lot and ran the heat to get warm and passed away due to a carbon leaking into his car. We were not together anymore but he left behind 4 children that were very young. Maybe an idea to get a carbon detector for extra caution. Love your channel. I was homeless once with 4 children in a van. I was not nearly as resourceful back then. Good job
Covering those windows up (especially the front) will go a long way to retaining heat, even if you only use cardboard. You are losing so much heat through them and that back one uncovered is not good where you sleep. Enjoying the content here in UK. Take care.

Stay warm ❤
Your videos have great editing. The chili cheese dogs look very tasty. 'Hope today's power bank is useful. Sending blessings, peace, comfort, safety, prosperity, and joy! Hang in there Hippi!
@@junes8796 thank you!
@@badboyhippi Did you receive the power bank?
Keep doing ya thing bro. I’m thinking bout living out my car due to my situation. Don’t got a van but got a small jeep. Definitely going to need a fridge, heater and stove!
@@UberGuy88 definitely those are main things you will need.
fridge is a big waste of money for many people.
@ do you care to elaborate on why you thinks so? What do you do with your food when it’s 90 degrees outside?
If you can make a large cardboard tent/ box to sleep in your bed area, it will help keep you warm.
Use a hose and a 20 pound tank for ur heater. Use an electric blanket with a power station
You can find a lot of gear at army surplus stores.
Get cat litter put it in a sock or those moister retardent boxes at Dollar tree they will help control condensation in your van.
Next on the list a jackery power bank. And a usb heating blanket. You can charge the power bank at a coffie shop or public library the usual have outlets near by.
Thanks for taking us along💕
Just FYI my husband finds really nice sleeping bags at thrift stores… like really good ones….just something to keep your eye out for…
I use hot water bottles. They’re only about 10$ and they are still warm when I wake up. It’s like having a heated blanket without the need of power. Keep the hustle up. Good luck.
I like all of the Calypso drinks also. 😊
It’s all cheaper than rent ! Let’s Go!!!
Watching your videos and getting to know more about your life. You are one cool brother God bless you always love you bro
Hey Hippi! Wishing you all the best ❤
Going to try and cash app you for some reflectix next week after I get paid.
i don't have much to spare, but warmth I can try and help with.
@@NewsViewsAndTruth the thought is enough . You don't need to send especially if you don't have much to spare🙏please the engagement and likes are enough. I got this ♥️ I will get more reflectix soon.
Bro keep it going. The subs are definitely growing. Nice work
you know you can cook food with tealight candles, and a muffin tin.
You know what you should do you should put reflectix but also have the half inch of the pink installation on the back of it that way it makes it more warmer for the inside that you have
Suggest you add some Amazon gift cards to your wishlist so people can chip in towards some of the bigger items. Also maybe add some winter boots!
I be waiting for you to get ready for the winter. Squirrels gather nuts, bears fatten up before the hibernation period, etc.ive been homeless. I gathered food from 4 or 5 churches ⛪️, thrift store blankets, pots pans, clothes. Take us on some thrifty trips. You seem to be,already, behind the 8 ball. Gather up Son!
get u an anker solix C1000 and a heated blanket. that power bank runs my plug-in-the-wall style heated blanket about 3 sleeps. i also got a plug in the cig-outlet style heated blanket. i sleep in between the two heated blankets laying on top of one. that Anker solix c1000 runs both blankets all night on top of a 1500w $30 heater for 10 or 20 mins if i wake up froze over. that sleeping bag u got is gona help lots too bro bro. i sleep on top of reflectix so i don’t gota heat up a mattress or anything under me with my body heat. wool blankets r cheap at the army surplus store they are fire retardant and moisture wicking. don’t waste your money on a power bank that’s less than 1000 watt hours if u want it to get u thru the night.
Cook the dogs in with the chili all at once
Another good video , stay warm bruh
Man for 10K subs you should do a mukbang video to celebrate and eat all of your favorite foods. Or for any upcoming milestone. I know I would contribute
@@lildave45 yes we will do something like. Mukbang is a good idea!
@@lildave45 thanks again🩷🙏
@@badboyhippi stay safe 💪🏻
Ok hippi with the consistency
🫶 thank you !
Just some food for thought, brother!
hey hippi, do another sleep stream this weekend. you'lll be an 10k by monday. that snow is my kryptonite 🥶you are brave to fight mother nature! good luck young man
Try and get more window reflectors if you insulate your van a little bit more you’ll be fine
I keep saying that over and over.
@@cyndeehI’ve said it too. I hope he is able to save up for some.
@lanicert same! It'd make all the diff!
Still love your van life dude okay
You need to update your Amazon wish list add a power bank you never know how a person will bless you and gift cards some people rather send a gift vs money
You are MOTIVATING
Use a lid ...😊
Zero degree sleeping bag probably if you don't mind a heavier sleeping bag military army winter sleeping bag. It will keep you warm & you will not need those other blankets
Donate one to him
PEOPLE REACH OUT AND HELP HIM ,HE IS SEEKING JOBS BUT IN THE MEAN TIME , A JACKERY BATTERY , 4 THICK BLANKETS, 2 SLEEPING BAGS , AN ELECTRIC HEATER TO USE WITH THE JACKERY ,SOCKS ,THICK PANTS ,LONG JERSEYS
Also dont forget a hot water bottle. Fill it with hot water place it near your feet or inside your sleeping bag
The ban is looking good inside
Stay warm my friend.
Good job
HEATED MATTRESS COVER (fits like a fitted sheet) a HEATED BLANKET ( I put it over my comforter and warms me up
Getting heated blanket soon!
They make an adapter for the heater so you can run a regular size propane tank and that ends up being a lot cheaper for propane.
love you because you are real 🙃😉😊
We should try to help him get a diesel heater. You should get that and install that.
Covering those windows up (especially the front) will go a long way to retaining heat, even if you only use cardboard. You are losing so much heat through them and that back one uncovered is not good where you sleep. Enjoying the content here in UK. Take care.
You can buy refillable one pound propane canisters and it's cheaper to refill them than buying new ones
You can get a 20 pound canister of propane, a lot cheaper and get an adapter for your buddy heater.
I enjoy your content and I love the fact that you are your always doing things to help your self and another thing I love that your very clean I PRAY THAT THE LORD BLESSES YOU IN A SPECIAL WAY MY BROTHER KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND KNOW THAT BETTER DAYS ARE COMING IS MY PRAYER FOR YOU IN JESUS NAME
