The Ouroboros is an ancient symbol depicting a serpent or dragon eating its own tail. It is often associated with concepts of cyclicality, unity, and the eternal nature of life. Here are some key meanings and historical significance:
    Symbolism of the Ouroboros
Eternal Cycle: The Ouroboros represents the cycle of life, death, and rebirth, illustrating the idea that all things are interconnected and perpetually renewing.
Infinity: It symbolizes infinity and the eternal nature of the universe, as the serpent continually devours and regenerates itself.
Unity: The Ouroboros is also a symbol of unity, as it merges the beginning and end into a continuous whole.
Self-Reflection: It can represent introspection and the self-sustaining nature of the soul, emphasizing personal growth and renewal.
    Historical Background
Ancient Egypt: The Ouroboros first appeared in ancient Egyptian iconography, symbolizing the eternal cycle of the sun and the concept of eternity.
Greek Alchemy: In Greek alchemical tradition, the Ouroboros was a symbol of the cyclical nature of alchemy and the transformative process.
Norse Mythology: In Norse mythology, Jörmungandr, the Midgard Serpent, encircles the world and is a similar representation of the Ouroboros.
Gnosticism: In Gnostic texts, the Ouroboros symbolizes the dual nature of existence, combining opposites into a single entity.
Overall, the Ouroboros is a powerful and enduring symbol representing the perpetual cycle of renewal, the infinite nature of the universe, and the unity of all things.

Another fascinating project and one that I would never have thought of. You used some neat problem-solving techniques in this project and it was helpful to hear you think the issues through. Loved the emerald green faux sea glass with the brown carnelian and pop of white lava stone. Dramatic, especially when paired with the dragon. Thanks so much!
