The steering wheel in question is a Rometsch steering wheel . A german coach built car company. from the 1924 to early 60s. the steering wheel is interchangeable with the Vw bugs. I believe it can go on 1956 to 1959. Love your videos , keep up the good work.
I'm agreeing with you on that black paint question. Not a fan at all.... it would be my last choice, frankly... I really miss my 62 Convertible....it had the forest green top and Kelly Green paint...I really like the non metallic paints in light gray, Panama Beige, and Cobalt Blue the best....love your channel....t. y. ....
This has to be one the coolest shows I’ve ever been to. So many friendly owners willing to talk and tell you about their cars. The only downside were those rank bathrooms. Yikes. Pete the owner of the schwimmwagen told me that there is a foot lever the driver uses to pump grease through wheel bearing after the car exits the water. I suspect the open fitting is either the exit for the purged grease or a easy access port to add bearing grease. Re: the blue “standard” (having only one horn grill, that is how standards came. Only one horn grill. They were cheap cars and VW could save some pennies by leaving one off. The owner of the OG paint ‘56 is Mark Merz. I believe the light color is Bamboo. Not sure of top color but more than likely Deep green. The gold’ish color is Lizard Green. That green stripped tent on that ‘58 cost more than I paid for my single cab in 2011. Lol. Valued they said over 5k😮. The sealing wax kombi was not painted by Deutsch Werks. The owner told me some shop in Santa Ana did the paint. Spoke to him this summer at the Old World show in HB. Last year for the non factory coach built Binz DC was ‘59.
I had a 1970 Volkswagen beetle and I had a Volkswagen super beetle and they are a lot of fun to drive but you have to work on the engine alot but it's pretty easy but I would get another one for sure
Love the vid. I'm up here in Sudbury Ontario Canada. Hard to find anything that's not rusted to crap. I owned a 55 oval for years, but putting 3 kids thru college, it had to go. All grown up now so I'm on the hunt again. And I agree, black was an awful color for the ghias!
The Keubelwagen and schwimwagen (geez, I hope I got those right) were both geared very low, in order to be able to travel at a "soldier's marching pace"... ...and I STILL want them both.
The colot of 1:15:35 karmann ghia you liked is lizard green with dark green top..I have one ir is an original color with dark green corduroy and baiege leatherette
Just an incredible collection of cars! The old green Ghia was Lizard Green I believe! I've seen Aero Silver in the 50's ghias, but I think it leans more green than blue... It's been a LONG time since I've seen that color in real life... the 356s were all cool as well. All Pre-A and A. I didn't see any Bs or Cs in the bunch. The headlights are the giveaway. The Bs and Cs have them higher on the fender... Just like the low light vs 60s ghias. Aside from the ghias and 356s EVERYTHING in that show was amazing! Thanks for capturing it.

Great, great video Mike. Tooo many cool rides to comment on. There are several vw vehicles in a pasture south of our town. There is no way to obtain any of them and that's too bad. Several appear to be in fairly good shape. Anyway, you do a terrific job with your videos all the time. Again, thanks for you efforts.
Texas brown is the colour. The bus beetle appears to be a 47 based on the plates. Details are correct on the car. Early 55 and 56 had a one piece bumper blade with bumpettes, really rare to find. That Karmann colour is called Lizard green.
Nitpicking point. The music you refer to as "Hitler war music" is actually military marches that go back to the mid to late 1800s before Hitler was even born . Did he commandeer it and use it , yes. Part of Germanys historical past. No different to our Souzas marches.

ive been into vw for over 40 years and been to hundreds of vw shows and never been to a vw where all those vw never been there .WHERE IS THIS SHOW LOCATED .
Among other vehicles. Old VW's used to be taken out to a field and baja'd till they died back in the day. Who would have thought. My parents used to make me count VW' s on family trips when I was a little kid back in the 1970's to keep me quiet. 😄
The 52-53 Porsche 356 had a bent front windshield as the grey 1952 you showed. You did not notice that that windshield was bent in the middle. Thanks for sharing these really early and extremely rare VW's and Porsche cars.

The color on the 56 RHD vert is Bordeaux Red. The black 1953 convertible with the vintage child seat behind it is mine.

When I was a kid, I used to see an early Karmann Ghia with 52 Chevy lights.
I've seen that "Mexican" ambulance on the 5, it hauls a$$.
I love the channel put you get a lot of adds, don't know if you have any control over that or not.
I cannot fathom driving on a two way road having to follow this parade of fellows doing 45 MPH. Frustrating beyond belief.
