Project Boussu: Eugène Godecharle - String Quartet VI - Allegro non troppo

Our exploration of 18th century Brussels court music played on replicas of Brussels instruments from the same time continues!
In this video, Shiho Ono, Ann Cnop, Benjamin Lescoat and Mathilde Wolfs play quartet music by the Brussels composer Eugène Godecharle (1742-1798). The instruments they use are built by luthier and organologist Geerten Verberkmoes, after examples by Benoit Joseph Boussu (1703-1773). Such fine music from a composer I confess I didn't know at all. Bravo to the performers and of course the maker of these fine and beautiful instruments!

Music and performance are great, but the masks are ridiculous.

Thanks for the kind comment about the music! This video was recorded in the middle of Covid-times, at a public art school (Conservatory Ghent). We had to wear masks according to the regulations of the school. And yeah, it is a document of that time....
