yeah, great ballad of the fellow I found a while back (link: ruclips.net/video/mI0QGNwxwnU/видео.htmlsi=mr9lZ-gpafg60_ru ) covers that, thank God I heard the song first cause this is a butchered version
Actually, this rendition misses some key points: Tell was told he and his son would be freed if he managed the feat - otherwise, they'd both be executed. Tell loaded his crossbow and stuck a second bolt in his belt. After his successful shot, Gessler asked him why he did that. "The second bolt was for you, if I had harmed my son with the first shot," Tell answered him. That was what sparked the Swiss toward rebellion and independence!
the part where he shot down the apple is a bit wrong in the Drama when William Tell has to shoot it he doesnt want to while his son cheers him on to take the shot
and he went to jail in the end cuz he had pulled out a second arrow so when Gessler asked y he answered saying he would have shot Gessler had he killed his own Son
I normally know about the same amount as most people or more if I’m interested but I knew the William tell overture but nothing about what it was based on I thought William tell wrote the overture
I remember the version I read kinda glossed over the fact that Gessler was a tyrannical leader. Honestly the way he was written he just seemed like some douchebag who just wanted to be worshipped It’s actually kinda funny looking back on it
the kids version of it, dunno tbh the real version had hanging instead of jail and they cut the entire latter part of the story, which I will let the ballad of the story elaborate on further Link: ruclips.net/video/mI0QGNwxwnU/видео.htmlsi=mr9lZ-gpafg60_ru dunno if it's 100% real or not, since it is a old medieval tale, but it's not an impossible folk tale, this is a butchered version though
@@cardboardcapeii4286 the story has been disneyified, in the original hanging rather than jail is threatened, and William escapes with his son and he does in fact shoot Gessler while escaping the ballad form is here Link: ruclips.net/video/mI0QGNwxwnU/видео.html
NOW BRING ME MORE FINERY
Incredible production value
I liked William tell he stood up for his believes
Needed to include the reason William pulled two bolts instead of just one.

@@3pg4kd No problem! I was looking for an animation of the story but it seems Disney got to the video format first!
The truth is: William tells

Very reminiscent of mask mandates. “Just wear the mask. We know it doesn’t make any sense, but just do it and we can all get on with our day.”
I had a similar thought.
People are so dramatic about the masks. It's a mask. Doctors wear them for hours and hours. Society has become weak. Scared of a cloth mask :/
A ridiculous comparison.
@@lukasmurch6976No society has become weak because we're too afraid not to wear the mask because of the tyrants threats if we defy them
Oh, for fuck's sake
