We all know William Tell shot an apple off his son's head. 🍎🏹 But why? Enjoy this fun animated re-telling of the folk tale which inspired Rossini's final masterpiece.
Beautifully animated by Holly Keating, with witty script by Arthur Riordan. Voice-over by Karen Ardiff and Arthur Riordan.

Actually, this rendition misses some key points: Tell was told he and his son would be freed if he managed the feat - otherwise, they'd both be executed. Tell loaded his crossbow and stuck a second bolt in his belt. After his successful shot, Gessler asked him why he did that.
"The second bolt was for you, if I had harmed my son with the first shot," Tell answered him.
That was what sparked the Swiss toward rebellion and independence!

the part where he shot down the apple is a bit wrong in the Drama when William Tell has to shoot it he doesnt want to while his son cheers him on to take the shot

and he went to jail in the end cuz he had pulled out a second arrow so when Gessler asked y he answered saying he would have shot Gessler had he killed his own Son

the kids version of it, dunno tbh
the real version had hanging instead of jail and they cut the entire latter part of the story, which I will let the ballad of the story elaborate on further

dunno if it's 100% real or not, since it is a old medieval tale, but it's not an impossible folk tale, this is a butchered version though
