I think Michael just made that comment in a kind of "I told you so/yeah, right" tone, he's not gonna hold against Dwight... Charles, the boss who picked on Jim, on the other hand... he is a boss IRL.
In the actual episode Dwight makes a case for himself for a promotion and one of his arguments was that he never missed a day.

The details that ppl miss, but its part of the things that makes this show good. Love it.
It's okay. There's plenty of room in the parking lot. (But the little cars go in the compact spot.)
This show has so many good details, it's incredible. I'm starting season 4 and it keeps getting better and better.
I like how Dwight says "I'm here! It's okay!!!" as if the whole office is in turmoil without him.

It's actually crazy, I've never watched an actual episode of the office but I've watched like 95% of these clips. Barely feels like I've watched anything but at the same time it feels like I've binged the show

Always baffled me how Dwight never realized it was Thursday given that his computer would show him the date, as would the calendar on his desk and his appointment book. Must’ve been one hell of a hangover from laser tag night
he would probably just write/check the stuff on friday in the book/calender and i don't know about you but i never look at the date on my computer unless i need to check what date it is
On my computer, the clock does not show "Thursday", but shows a numeric date. So it is possible.

I often wake up without every looking at the date on my phone or computer.
I had a coworker who would always ask me what time it was and in response I would remind him it's on his computer screen that he was looking at.

Great prank on Jim by Dwight. Pretend to be convinced it's Friday, giving him an excuse to lie in the next morning - and someone to blame it on. Then, all he had to do was to act as if he'd only just realised the real date and hurried to work.
