  • New Year, New Needle Book! Today I am refreshing an old needle book design using colorful wool-blend felt, cotton embroidery floss and some die cut felt shapes. As a bonus, the cover embellishment is silk ribbon embroidery, similar to the old one.
The "Part 2" video that details the Silk Ribbon embroidery here: • Simple Silk Ribbon Emb...
Felt is easy to die cut and to work with. It is a warm, forgiving fabric. If you don't have die cuts, a shape can be hand-drawn or traced and cut out with scissors. You don't even have to be good at stitching. A little bit of wonky stitching adds character!
The idea with this is to make something that is pretty for yourself or as a gift for a friend or loved one.

I laughed out loud when you picked up your sheets of wool felt and turned that on edge. It reminded me waaaaay to much of my own stash.

Love it! You could put the snap for the scissors inside the finger hole for the scissors if that fits easier than between them. It's not as symmetrical
I even have curved upholstery needles

Don’t forget to close your blade when done with the cut. It’s dangerous to leave the blade uncovered when not in use. Even if it’s only for a few minutes/minute or two. ( just say “yes” mother) 🤣🤣

I could only find a few limited colors in wool felt. It doesn't look like hers. Each piece is thicker. But, touching it feels nice, from the lanolin in the wool.
Regular craft felt feels dry to the touch. But the wool felt feels nice on the hands, like lubricates your skin. I heard it prevents your needles from rusting too. So I think I'm going to use it only where the needles go
