9 years, I have avoided complex tools like this in after effects for 9 years till I randomly stumbled on this video and now it suddenly makes sense. Thank you for explaining things so easily I’m grateful.
Only your video gave steps which I followed and realize that my Ae does not have the "Enable Depth of Field" box to be checked off or switched on. How do I check off that box if it is inactive?
Hello, I had same problem. I found out you have to have set "Classic 3D" and not any other and then when you open Camera layer, you have all the camera options there.

Great to hear!
I have struggled with this subject before so I love the straightforward simplicity of your explanation. Good stuff man.
Glad you found it useful ☺️
Make sure in your comp settings that the 3d renderer is set to "Classic 3D", or you won't be able to enable the "Enable Depth of Field" check box.
Great concise straight to the point tutorial
For Maya renders/conpositing as well as E3D. I use BCC’s DOF plugin though to minimize the halo on 3D models.
great explanation !!

I was trying to do this with Cinema 4D on, not knowing that wasn't possible, I wish Adobe made that clear. Thanks for the video!
