Liza's lutz is my all time favorite. Her jumps are so effortless. I remembered that she jumped out of the camera several times. She deserves +5 for her 3 lutz.
The sad thing is that bad lutzes and even obvious flutzes can easily get higher GOE than Liza's textbook lutz because transitions, entries and arm positions (rippons or tanos) cancel out all the errors of the jump itself. Hence Medvedeva's super high GOEs for a non existing lutz. It's so unfair. The reason why Liza's lutz is so incredibly good is because you can't jump it like she does if you put all your energy in transitions, entries and arm positions. But I feel the jump itself should be judged, not everything else you do before, during and after it. A lutz should be a lutz. If it's not, it should not earn any points at all. Sorry, Evgenia.
I think both Rika and Liza have impeccable Lutz technique. But Liza jumps Lutz so effortlessly and the height is incredible. Rika might be a Lutz queen, but Liza is a Lutz goddess
The best lutz without question belongs to Elizaveta Tuktamysheva. It's a pity that she could not get +4 and +5 because she does not have creative entry going into the jump. I think she should mend that problem to get higher GOE because she surely can jump. Although at the same time I think distance, air position, height, and landing should be taken into account more because we're talking about jumps. Bigger jumps are harder to land and in my opinion look better and exciting compared to small jump. RIka's lutz also looks clean to me so she takes second place. Next one is Alina, then Kaori (her jumps are quite big but she is still flutzing. However IMO this season she has improved the edge compared to the deep inside edge she performed last season), and Sakamoto las place (no one is praising her for her jumps anyway, she is PCS darling).
Even with no creative entry Liza’s jump can get 4 - 5 GoE. There are 6 bullet points, creative entry is just 1 bullet point, so if she checks the other 5 bullet points she could get up to +5 GoE without any entry.
In order of preference: Liza has the best lutz, hands down, although her transitions into it are probably hurting her GOE for it; it defines effortless and she gets into the air at 1/4 rotation. The height is also amazing. Rika's lutz is a little worse, in that she gets into the air somewhere between 1/4 and 1/2, but she's quite clearly in the air by 1/2, and her landings are clean af. Her height isn't the best, but it's ok. Alina's lutz takeoff is 1/2 turn prerotated and her landings are so close to being UR. It's a far cry from her Olympic level. She looks so tired doing those jumps ): Kaori's takeoff is like Rika's in that she gets off the ice between 1/4 and 1/2 rotation, except her edge is seriously questionable. Her landing was possibly UR as well. Height is ok. Sofia has a clear flutz and prerotates 1/2. Her jump wasn't the highest this time either. Satoko has clear UR problems; this is well-documented, I don't need to say more. Sometimes she prerotates too, which is concerning. Her jumps are tiny.
1. Liza: Textbook. 2. Rika: Great, but outside edge isn't as good as Liza's. 3. Alina: Prerotated, shallow edge. 4. Kaori: Flutz. 5. Sofia: Flutz, prerotated. 6. Satoko: Full blade assistance, prerotated, underrotated. This isn't necessarily a definitive order; just the order for the lutzes shown. All the ladies are so talented though! It hurts me to have to put Satoko last but this just wasn't her best competition. :(
@@fashionmwah Just quoting myself again here to save time-- "Blade assistance is when a skater puts down the rest of their blade on what is supposed to be a toe pick jump, especially the flip and lutz." Very easy. Rika and Tuktamysheva does a lutz. The other 4 no lutz so no lutz. And Alina here does the outside edge but other Alina's "lutzs" have no outside edge. Can you judge a lutz that is no lutz?
Alina kind of rotates on her toe pick for about 180 degrees and somewhere around the middle of that rotation (roughly when she has 1/4 of the first rotation covered) there is full-blade contact with ice. Which is by the way an interesting detail, because on the Olympics it was very similar to nowadays Sherbakova's "quad" lutz (2019 fall Grand-Prix for instance), i.e. a simple full-blade support and push. Now I see some sort of rotating *around* the pick but the inevitable full-blade contact is there. Unfortunately she maintains roughly the same technique now, here's a fresh sample (Grand-Prix NHK Trophy, SP, her second Grand-Prix stage): ruclips.net/video/-cjmcNrre94/видео.html. The rotation around the pick can be seen, also the edge is at least unclear in my opinion. @triple flutz keep the videos coming! Love what you are doing!

she did perfect flips for her SP and her FS. LMAO. in fact, she has less pre rotation on her flip compared to her lutz.
textbook = Yuna kim
Zagitova has the worst lutz right now, in the womens field.... She basically pre rotate like hell!!!!!! And the jumping edge is sketchy as fuck
I think rika tech in the most clear on this jump, also liza has amazing lutz too!!! alina looks like UR!!
The best luzs is a yuna Kim plz... she’s luzt is a textbook:(
Kaori Flutzamoto

Satoko Lze
talk too much, who is the world champion in the winter Olympics in this subject?
A flawed technique is still a flawed technique. While judges can go blind eye for some favourites we at least know the truth.
Rika and Liza
Туктамышева лучшая.
