I didn’t realize how little Jaime was in season 2 until you pointed it out. Another mark of a great show is feeling a character’s presence and importance even when they aren’t on screen. Definitely a solid 9.5/10 for sure.
@@gfilmer7150season 4 is the most flawed from a moment from moment basis, but it has so many good moments its insane. Its the least perfect out of the first 4, but man it is so hype and fun
yes, catelyn letting jamie go was objectively stupid and had catastrophic consequences, but you have to keep in mind that she genuinely thought she was going to save her daughters. most mothers would do the same thing. your football metaphor for it was not even close to comparable.
I do think you give Tywin a little bit to much "niceness" credit: I think the reason he shares food with her is that at that point there where already two people killed with poison at herrenhall. I think he wanted to know if his food is poisoned or not.
Can we all acknowledge that melisondra was the worst witch in fiction history. I’ve never seen someone be wrong so many times about “the chosen one” and keep bringing it up to everyone she meets 😂😂
I’ve been loving these videos because I recently dove back into the Game of Thrones rewatch after season 2 of House of the Dragon and after finishing the audiobook for Fire & Blood. Being able to watch the series and look back at things that were hinted at in the later seasons was amazing. I think one thing that got better season by season was Ramin Djawadi’s music.
39:10 NO. Even specifically looking at just this choice of Sansa over Margaery, still no. In my eyes, he was choosing Sansa because he still wanted to abuse a beautiful women/girl and Sansa was easier than trying to find a way to abuse Margaery. Sansa had no family to watch over her and the only people who would get in his way would be Cersei and The Hound, and only to save her to continue life as a hostage not to save her from all pain. Margaery not only had her direct blood family, she had a gaggle of hand-maidens who were all close friends and known gossips. I even think Joffrey preferred redheads as his subjects of abuse (in the show) because of how he went on to treat and kill Rozz. That birthday prostitute scene shows the emotional and physical abuse he subjected Sansa to on two separate women. The small, seemingly younger, mousey brunette got the physical while Rozz had the emotional of having to allow and perpetuate the physical.
Going hatless in snow was just stupid. But for me, the greatest mystery (in the books) was the deal with widow's peaks. Every new character seemed to have one, so it MUST mean something. Or maybe GRRM just couldn't think of any other type of hair...
Yeah, no game of thrones was hard to follow with so many characters and plot lines. The only way I actually finally understand the show was by dropping it after season 2. Reading the books then rewatching. And once you're not second guessing people's names yeah. Best show ever😭
Renly would have been the best king of the 5. He is loved by the people, has the support of 2 kingdoms on his own and realistically 5 if he allies with Robb, he is a proved politician (getting the Tyrells on board takes skills, even if he bangs the son). Would have won by a landslide without the magic tricks
13:00 It seems that in the earlier seasons atleast whenever the White Walkers attack, They leave one witness alive. They did the same thing in season 1 when they spared the guy Ned executed for desertion. The Night's Watch also lost that battle, and had to retreat.
31:00 queen regent formally outranks the hand of the king the only reason why it doesn't come across that way is that cersei defers to her dad (like everyone else) so can't oppose tyrion openly without making it look like she's going against tywin
Season 2 is when i was officially hooked on this show, i couldn't get enough of it!
God, I forgot just how fucking good Game of Thrones used to be. It really was peak television... until it wasn't.
The first few seasons still remain the most captivating television I’ve ever seen. Such a shame what happened to this show
It’s crazy, these videos are coming out in perfect sync with my rewatch of the show
The battle of Blackwater is what got my brother to watch the rest of the show with me

Best season in my opinion. Tyrion running King’s Landing just tremendous.
I have this and Season 3 tied with a 9/10. Season 1 outpaces both with a 9.5/10.
And Season 4 is a 10/10 imo

@@Jp-1377 yeah the first 5 seasons were great. True Detective season one is probably my favorite single season of a show ever.
Season 6 aint so bad @@BatmanBoss
@@BatmanBoss my mate recommended true detective season 1 actually, been meaning to get round to it

Ohhh Gwendoline got her credit, she’s the voice over for Civ 7 after Sean Bean did Civ 6! That says enough 💪🏻

ugh as a book reader and fan of stannis, his introductory season was great but just fell of so hard. hard to watch knowing what is coming 😂
id like to see your opinion of why the writing is better from the book or better in the tv show for the scenes in season 2
