Oh I loved the video. I’m interested in getting a looper, drum machine/beat buddy type thing. I have 0 experience with them, haven’t even used a pedal in general in 20 years. Honestly, probably only plugged into an amp 15 times or so in the last 20 years. I actually only recently got a little fender mustang to plug into with headphones. So watching this video definitely made me feel confident that I’m going to need a get a real amp again, and gonna need to do some research on pedals and loopers, and I’m going to completely suck really bad and gonna have to overcome some learning curves. Rock on.
It's nice to hear someone being human in a demo. Some of what you were doing, the looper didn't actually play exactly what you played with your human intricacies and it sounded crap and out of time on playback. Now I wondered if it was just a really poor looper, BUT, it appears that it has a sync mode where it tries to either fit what you played in to the timing of its preset drum loop, or vice versa. Well it appears that the sync mode isn't that intuitive and it's a bit basic. Similar to my experiences of sync mode on 80's synth keyboards. So, basically, don't use that mode cos it isn't that great. But the looper seems really packed with tons of features and the footswitch controls are super easy for on stage performance. So I am impressed with it. I might get one. Thanks for the review/demo.
Its because he is trying to end the loop with his hand, this adds dead time to the loop you have to use your foot so there is no empty space after the last beat
Hey, if you connected the pedal by L(Mono) input and output, how didn't the drum mashine pick up the effects you were using? When I connect my overdrive pedal, the drum mashine on groove loop becomes distorted too. Please help and thanks
@ValentinoLuggen because Spark thinks it’s an interface to the pc and it merely acting as a speaker for that recorded track like if you were tracking with it
Damnit Alan, quit putting shit on your channel that makes me want to spend money on it! Great video today. On a side note, I know most people will think they are shit amps, but I scored a smoking deal last week on Amazon…brand new Stage Right SB100 6L6/12AX7 all tube amp for $420 as a birthday present for my son. I would never pay the $649 regular price but at $420 it’s an unbelievable bargain.
for F sake edit out your bad takes. its more a demo of "not pro skill" than the gear.. (i am sure I would be looking like that but I wouldn't post a video) Thanks for the good gear info and demo however. I might get one of those at such a trivial price. Was thinking of some other jam tools like the Trio+ / beatbuddy etc but this is more like it at the price.
You’ve obviously never seen this channel before. Maybe you should try working 50-60 hours a week in healthcare and doing a YT channel on the side. Then you can come back and talk to me about what I need to spend more time doing
No I’m dismissing an asshole. People who know this channel know the looper inside joke thread. If you make better videos than I do I’d love to see them and perhaps learn from them
The product demo video shows a mode you didn't try. So I am disappointed. They show the drums automatically accompanying live real-time to loop WHILE you record. That is how I imagined using it. Play just a few bars and see what drums it selects. You make it tough on yourself trying to play without hearing a click or drums while recording. I have a Jamman that frustrates me. Amazon says there a many returns of this unit.
Glad I could help - what modes are you talking about? You do seem to be a hairy hole that’s for sure. I didn’t realize it was my job to instruct on a product in a video that I didn’t get paid to do. But hey Merry Christmas!
@@GearGasms There are 3 modes. You need to unplug... hold both pedals down and re-plug. purple red and blue. no one said sh*t about your "job"... A foundational aspect of the pedal that eluded your "job" are these 3 modes

Criminally under-rated channel and host. Love the reviews. Keep up the good work!
Thank you! Please share the word and help defeat the algorithm! 🎸🤘🏻
I enjoyed this because you're a real person with struggles us bedroom guitar players can relate to. Thank you!
I'm glad you can relate! I try to keep it real.
Great demo. I have a cheap looper that I never got attached to. Maybe this one will get my groove back!
Thank you!
Wow, this guy does not suck. That was pretty cool and a catchy tune too
Editing magic 😂
lol not this time!
Thanks brother!

Thanks! I’m trying!
Just got this pedal for Christmas! Just found your channel as well. Great stuff!
Welcome aboard!
Great vid. I went through a looper video rabbit hole, and you are the only person that doesn't tap his foot to count 4/4 time!
But maybe I should? Lol

You’re in good company! Would love to have you subscribe if not already! Thanks!
Happy Friday Alan.
You too Gary!
Congrats to Mooer for making a looper than Alan Barnes can almost figure out how to use :D I don't have a looper yet. I'm afraid of them :D
You can do it!
Sounds good!
Thanks Gary! I still need to spend more time with it
What Orange is that? The distortion sounds great.
Love your name lol. It’s the Orange CR120

Exactly tho to be fair I do leave gaps with my feet as well
I got this looper for bass practice the other day and I'm still trying to figure out how to loop lol 😂
It’s not easy brother!

Not sure how that works. Haven’t used this since the video sorry! Loopers don’t work for me
maybe it depends where in the order the loop pedal is, the manual shows the looper at the end of the rig
Good call! Thank you!
“Groove to that shit, Rick!” 🤣😂
Lol
How about playing the Mooer Loop through your Spark? Can it be done?
Sure any looper can plug into the Spark.
@ValentinoLuggen I’m not sure that’s correct but I’m not a person who ever uses a looper.
@ValentinoLuggen because Spark thinks it’s an interface to the pc and it merely acting as a speaker for that recorded track like if you were tracking with it
When you say it stretches the music, do you mean it quantizes? I've been looking for a drum pedal that does that forever.
Actually you can just change speed of playback
Thoughts on the Spark cab?
Spark what?
I’ve not tried it but it’s a good idea
Can you save the loop while it is playing without stopping it?
Yes
Do you have that set in stereo mode
No
@@GearGasms the speed control doesn't seem to work
@@GearGasms do have to in steteo to play the drum s and looper? Thank You!
@@GearGasms Do you have to have the unit in stereo to play the drums and looper at the same time??? Thanks
I only used it the one time in the video sorry
My arch nemesis pedal is ring mod.
Fun unit. And unlike a real drummer you don’t have to clean up after it.
Yeah you and me both on the ring mod! I can’t make one sound good to save my life!
HEY MICKEY!! HEY MICKEY! 🤣
lol glad you enjoyed!

That’s a hell of a deal! It’s fun to buy for guitar playing sons! I just got mine a Spark Pearl edition

thanks for telling us how to change the 'modes'.... oh wait... you didn't... no help

Your timing really sucks very hard .... actually a looper can help you improving this.
As well as practicing with a metronome. I hear ya
