I have been expanding my horizons by getting smaller sets of the higher end pencils (still buying good quality, well received lower end imports), so that I can determine what is best for me and my money before purchasing larger sets. I’m fine with getting just a 12, 24 or 36 set before plunking down large amounts of cash and find out they’re not for me. So these smaller sets are my “test runs”.
