Gorgeous, that is my favourite technique...love the colours and who doesn't love a writing desk. I still have hit and miss outcomes with inlays but love them to death. Wish they weren't so expensive 🤷
Hi BJ! First, it was so great to meet you today. Thanks so much for all your wisdom and tips and tricks. This piece is gorgeous. I got lots of ideas for other projects. I love your content.
Well, well, nice to see a full video… where have you been, miss you. I love ❤️ love ❤️ this piece and bought that inlay but haven’t used it yet. . Thanks for the video it gives me ideas for a future project 👍👏🙋♀️👍🌷🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I think you took a piece destined for the trash and made it into something beautiful in your eyes. If others don’t think so that’s their opinion. There is room in this world for many many different styles what there isn’t room for is more trash and unkindness. Good job!
Hi BJ, great to see a video from you. I was just thinking about you, that you are busy and there you are with your new video. Yay! I absolutely love your videos. You mentioned that the furniture at the thrift stores is expensive. What about online places like Facebook, craiglist, etc.? By the way, I saw the earliest comment. You got yourself a critic. I know that it's annoying and discouraging, but "all publicity is good publicity." All comments count. Good or bad. And, just think about it, if even Jesus was criticized, and he was as perfect as people get, then why not everyday people like you and me? Don't let it bother you. Just keep doing what you are doing. Have fun. Enjoy the process and keep reviving old, outdated furniture. Speaking of old and outdated. At Versailles, isn't all furniture painted? So, there you go. Have a great week.
I’m not bothered my the critical comments themselves. I’m bothered by the unkind delivery. It’s absolutely fact that some people won’t like my outcomes. That’s expected.
People get so snarky about painting furniture! The fact is, thrift stores are full of furniture that never sells (until they bring down the price) & mostly bought by furniture artists. Old furniture gets thrown out (some lucky people get to pick up roadside pieces before the dump trucks arrive) but the reality a LOT of furniture ends up as firewood or landfill. If people want to restore furniture then all power to them but not everyone wants plain wood anymore. Painted furniture sells. Every piece is saved from being destroyed & given new life. The artist may not be your aesthetic but no need to leave nasty comments either - we do not spend all this time & money on these pieces for fun! They are on sold to people who love them (some we keep if we fall in love!) It is a business & to stay in business you need to supply what people want - and they want these, even if you don't. I hate the old farmhouse beige/distress aesthetic but for a long time that was all people wanted - so that's what I did. I called my workshop 50 shades of beige for a few years to cheer myself up but every single piece sold. So save your snark. BJ has almost 5k subscribers - how many do the snarkers have???? 🤣🤣

Thank you for your support. I’ve heard “you ruined it” enough times it just makes me laugh.

There’s a lot I miss about Copenhagen! Thank you so much for your continued support.
Love
🥰
Could I do this on the inside of the entry steel door of my house?
I don’t see why not.
Nope. That's a LOT of effort to end up looking old, moldy and worn out.
Ok. Thank you
Wow what a waste of a good piece of furniture🤬
What a waste of your time to write a nasty comment. 😂
