I remember in the 90's he went on celebrity Jeopardy and all my roomates laughed at me when I predicted he'd win. And he won!
Who knew Cheech was such a music geek. Awesome.
He's a comedian/actor. Most are extremely artistic.
dingus kingus marwk Yeah all those creative, outgoing actors and comedians are definitely autistic
Could it be because he's a musician?
Duh! You never seen his movies?
VirtuDiarie
Cheech Marin goes back like a boomerang! Been a huge fan since my grandparents let me watch "Up In Smoke" when I was 7
Probably not the first time cheech was asked what's in his bag.
+dakota19979 lol

Okay, that was funny...
One of the best episodes ever. Some great choices.
Cheech is fucking awesome! Such a musical ear!
wow, Cheech is a complete master of old music!
I can’t believe I’m seeing this for the first time nine years later. What a 💎 of a clip.
Cheech knows his shit! Excellent picks! A lotta people could learn from Mr. Cheech...
Cheech, brilliant guy and very thoughtful, discerning taste.
I love Marty Robbins. You have great taste in music Cheech. I love your stories.
Bobbi Ysmael “they’re hanging me tonight” is one of my favorites by him
Edith Piaf, King Sunny Ade, Ofra Haza, Marty Robbins, Tom Lehrer & Buck Owens etc. Very eclectic and great selection! Hopefully this will cause folks to explore some of these artists.
I have watched a lot of these, and this is one of the most interesting ones!
Everyone should listen to Fifty gates of wisdom/Yemenite songs by Ofra Haza. It’s really a gem
What a great series this is! Only just discovered it!
a word of warning, mr.marin, that edith piaf is some potent stuff.
45 minutes of her greatest hits will have you up on the roof ready to make the unhappiness stop.
ofra haza on the other hand, is a gift to bring light to even the most burdened of hearts
Love King Sunny Ade. Who knew he had such good taste. Never expect that from him.
I love that Piaf album
Really liked the variety of his selection. Some hits I have never heard before.
Damn lived with karen dalton, she is awesome.. The song katie cruel is my favorite.
Cheech is a legend.
0:52, that song/singer is what they use in the movie Inception to wake the dreamers up! tripped me out, soon as I haerd it I couldn't remember where I had heard it before, finally came to me though, Inception! awsome movie btw.
+Scott Jorgensen Yeah, it's an awesome, haunting song: "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien"
1 minute in and already piaf and king sunny ade! great artists
The commitments man. Love it.
No one expected such sophisticated taste and knowledge from Cheech, I'm really impress!!
Thanks Cheech ❤️💖🧡💙💛💚💗💜
such a great series
Cheech just impressed me even more than before, and I knew he was REALLY cool. Also, I love me some Ofra Haza.
Hey Cheech, Buck Owens & the Buckaroos at Carnegie Hall is a must have.
look at the date this video was uploaded! perfection!
I love karen Dalton. So cool that he lived with her. Cheech is a legend.
I worked with someone who lived next door to Cheech in BC. He said that one day Cheech rang his doorbell, and said "Have you seen my Ferrari?". That was the moment I knew he was living his character in real life.
Thanks Cheech, been after this for ages had no idea the name Im Nin'Alu - Ofra Haza
Much love to Cheech!!
Some interesting picks by Mr. Marin. My 84 year old Mother has a big crush on him, so I had to check out his picks. Some good ones I've never heard of before.
Love these vids! Keep them coming! Subscribed!
Great seeing Cheech picking up some great classic Country. Also love the outta left-field Commitments pick.
Awesome tastes in music!
The Commitments soundtrack was the first tape I ever owned, such an odd deep cut and underrated funny movie.
I like the guy talking with Cheech. Rob had a good knowledge and actually helped the video. Some of the older vids where employees stood in they just kind of laughed, but Rob knew what was up with all of Cheech's stuff.
Agreed; added quite a bit to the video. And he was genuinely beaming the entire time.
This episode makes me want to hang out with Cheech SO BAD!!! What a cool dude.
Cheech is a true artist and his taste is a perfect example of it!
You like the same music my MOM loved. My grandmother used to listen to Webb Pierce and Kitty Wells. You know Buck is from Bakersfield. He has 4 houses that I know of there. You're awesome. Cheech. PEACE.
I live in Bakersfield.
Ofra Haza since 1988.. RIP
Cheech Marin, what a boss!!
Tom Lehrer is fantastic! I need that song book
He was a child singer in East LA, so music is his jam. I've had that Edith Piaf collection for years, it is PHENOMENAL!! King Sunny Ade's Juju Music is a listening experience, try that one.
Marty Robbins! Yes😁👍🏻
Well played, Amoeba....well played...
Cheech reminds me exactly of my uncles from his mannerisms to the way he describes an album to you its eerie
Thank you , Cheech
Buck Owens used to be on the show "Hee Haw" years ago!!! I watched this show until I was grown!!!
Great choices.
I knew the Cheech one would be interesting.
Anyone else surprised that Cheech is such a big fan of Country Music?
His movies with Chong still crack me up.
Why would someone be surprised by that? Do you stereotype often?
@@beevezeepe6615Mexican Americans don’t like to get up early but they have to so they do it real slowwwww
Sick channel to come to find new music
awesome sellections
He USED to do music for a living way WAY back, so this is just like riding a horse to him. Music is a unique journey to EVERYONE, not just celebrities.
How Eclectic...I'm getting that Bardow album for sure
You have to love him.
Surprised that hes a country not jazz fan. Great one love him.
I was expecting getting high stories, but instead got schooled on some cool tunes.
happy birthday Cheech:)
You know Cheech you're pretty good at music yourself. :-)
Love Cheech.
Yes!
xoxo The Clarences
"It's a very famous song that no one's ever heard of." lol
So glad I discovered Karen Dalton because of this....
I had no idea that Cheech was such a vast musical knowledge that really "blew the socks off me"
Karen Daulton and Piaf make tons of sense together.
Niceee... MUF DVR got a nice collection going!
dude he was waiting the entire time to say "thanks for sharing your bag with us"
That was cool
Comic genius and impeccable musical taste
Long live Cheech!
Yes both of them chong was in a soul group funny course their name was the Vancouver's and cheech knew James olmos when he sang for acid rockers Pacific ocean he also played in bands

yea king sunny ade is badass
ofra haza : )
Dudes a fuckin legend
perfect for 4/20 but even still he still just a music fan
Yes! A friend convinced me to go to a show in Philly and he ripped it. The women there were fine too, Cheech is right on how ladies dig King Sunny Ade. Folks "spraying", throwing money at the 13 piece band the whole shole show.
Who knew? Still almost spit out my adult beverage with the first clip starting off
Haha, Cheech is the man!
Most coolest music I took nd love is "fred neil" many sides of neil best shit ever
Check out Cheech bustin out the Buck Owens. Props
Thinking he's gonna like Webb Pierce. He was GIGANTIC in Country Music in the 1950s.....
Fuck yeah, Cheech, I'm buyin' me some Webb Pierce.
Cool guy
6:08 marty robbins closing the album with the banger "big iron"...
