When using foil, use the duller side for less sticking, also coat the surface with the butter before laying the fish or whatever you're cooking on it. Love your videos man. Hopefully I get some time to get out in nature and do a little of what you're doing. Stay blessed!
Those first ones that didn't raise were huge ! Awesome lake ! It happens from time to time fish that didn't take already ate .those that do are hungry ! Trout hunt for food by eyesight smell and if there hungry but also with how well you present the bait or fly . I know your dilemma so well . But Thumbs-up I'd have it no other way ! Your videos are great ! It shows all aspects of what fishing is all about !
So much effort to catch fish in the deep forest. Thanks for interesting views and flyfishing!! From my past experience, when fish are there but not biting, I use deer hair caddis as sinking fly rather than dry fly.
I like the basic premise of your channel. You need to vary your fly fishing techniques, get some extra spools and use an intermediate line and a type 5 or 6 line. A lot of those lakes you're fishing you should be absolutely smashing fish every cast. You definitely go to some pretty cool little lakes!
Some of my favorite adventures were spent mashing around that hillside. Many of the beaver ponds used to hold fish, but the drought wrecked it, plus some of the better ponds breached and drained. There are still two stocked lakes, though, and they can be pretty good. You were so close to one.
Yeah I know what you’re talking about. I was gonna try the one but I didn’t think I would have time to experience it to its full potential. Going back soon to try for those tigers.. also surprised I didn’t get any from that really big beaver pond. I know there’s gotta be some fish in there..
@bassntroutfishing I just went yesterday on a planned "first day of summer" trip. The one with the brookies and tigers is dead. Can't believe it. I floated it, and there were zero signs of fish. I know it well. The one you were closest to when catching fish in the beaver ponds is probably still good though. There are small fish and medium fish, with a few hogs. The big beaver pond, among other permanent ponds there, were stocked with cutthroat some years back, but none of the fish survived. Salamander water. The tigers were accidentally stocked there instead of the lake just to the south a couple of miles.
A great adventure, if you add a little vegetable oil with the butter, the butter flavor comes through, but the butter does not burn. Keep up the good work
_Beautiful hike through the mountains. Definitely some fishy looking spots. Those first couple fish that didn't rise appeared to be of pretty good size. Brookies are a blast too. Hope to get into some soon myself._ 💯💯
Power bait power eggs. Preferably pink power eggs, original or garlic enhanced. They work for wild trout as well as stocked. I know it's a lazy way to go about it, but it triggers bites.
@@joshwestfall8750 it triggers bites whether you like to catch and release or not, but I think you mean, if you want to catch and release, power bait isn't the best option.
Nice Cutthroat.. but you need to be packing a sidearm for the Bears & Lions.. they can smell the fish that you handle... At a minimum.. wear a little bell like the Japanese have to wear.
Always great videos, always good content and entertaining! Hey man I keep asking on how to send you packages of stuff but I don't know where to send it too 🥺 please help me on that so I can gift you could things, peace out!
No there are a bunch of different strains of cutthroat. Bonneville, Colorado, yellowstone, bear lake, greenback, coastal, piute, etc. all the same species just different parts of the country.
This is my favorite video of all of yours can you pin this comment
I agree I've been with him from the beginning and never seen cutthroat pulled like that
🫡
I grew up fishing trout, only creeks and ponds. In Canada, northern Ontario, exceptionally good. Brings back memories
Crankbaits-Stickbaits are the biggest secret for catching trout.
Dude, those fish were on fire 🔥 Love those colors ! Great video, as always ! Fish on !!! 🎣
Don’t know how I missed this one! Great video!

I dig that you are consistently give us content to watch and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. Could we get a little more bass fishing though?

I’ll try it next time, I also picked up some orange scuds and I’m looking for some egg imitations as well.
DANG THE SKIN IS SO GREAT WITH SALT AND PEPPER AND NICE AND CRISPY!!!
Not a fan
Throw Woolly bugger with a scud or San Juan worm behind it that seems to do good for me in the high mountain lakes
I just bought some scuds and I have a few San Juan worms, I’ll try it this week.
@@bassntroutfishing if I got finicky fish those both seem to work pretty well for me good luck to you and your videos are excellent.

Yeah they are, and those weren’t even the prettiest ones I saw..

It's hard to beat the color of those mountain cutthroats.
Yes. Best time of the year to fish for them!
these videos make me play Far Cry 5 :D
ima try the whole fish method it looks so much better than a fillet imo . great videos man !!
Yeah give it a try!

Love your vids brother! We are gonna hit up the lake this Sunday and try to get some fish! We out here in BC, Canada

Yeah I forgot😅
Also what kind of fly line you git?? I love that aqua blue😎❤
That line just came with the reel. It’s floating line, that’s all I know.
Zip ties for the net

do you use gaia maps? they’re really useful for finding trails and stuff to lakes

Why did you say Colorado River cutthroat when ur fishing a pond?? Is there a difference when it come to regular cutties and river cutties???🤔🙏

Carry some small zip ties to repair your net
where in the USA do you live where it snows in june? Rapals are nasty arent they??
Anywhere with high elevation it will snow any month of the year. I’ve also fished in snow in July.
@@bassntroutfishing that's gotta be pretty cool.
Do you carry a firearm out there?? Love the videos!!
Sometimes
Just curious do u carry a gun when u are out in the woods
Sometimes, the thing you have to worry about is the lions, black bears are usually pretty harmless unless they have cubs.

Montana I believe

If fish are spawning don't you think you should leave them in peace to spawn.

It’s fine to fish for them but catch and release is highly encouraged
