I only started playing Ys 2 years ago. But this sound makes me nostalgic af. It's nice that I can still feel nostalgic past my 30s. Just takes a special franchise for it.
There are theories going way back from the first Ys in the late 80s that we are not playing as Adol in this series but rather we are an older version of him recounting his tales of adventure through reading his books/journals. So you may just be right in that every Ys self contained game is just Adol as an old man recounting his travels to us, the listener and his youth has already long passed him by.

Is anyone else already shipping them? I swear early on, they radiate so much dysfunctional marriage energy. And by "dysfunctional marriage" I mean that at a glance, the pairing should be D.O.A. with even the pair thinking so, yet neither side wants to pick anyone else.

Completed the game: No, she doesn’t. Dana is 10/10, Karja is a good 7 as a character. Also she has more of a sibling relationship towards Adol, which is a nice shift compared to the usual harem standards of this franchise. But Dana is still a way better female protagonist - as a character as well as visually as well as regarding background story.
@@FelixS. Hmm, I do agree that Dana is a 10 but Karja, hmmm, I think a 7 is too low. I would give her an 8 as she really grew on me in the second half. I would put her on the same level as White Cat. A solid character.

Its the first iteration of a new combat system. Ys 8 and 9 were the 3rd and 4th iteration of theirs. Of course it won't "look good" It hasn't been put through its paces yet. Trails through daybreaks combat is basic bitch shit compared to Kai no Kiseki's. (1st vs. 3rd iteration)

Whoever made this and other companies need to learn RPG from ATLUS. Looks like a 2000s RPG with slightly better graphics. And even the character movements are so unrefined...battles are to smash buttons... jeez

The gameplay looks fun- there a lot of cutscenes/ dialogue which I’m not a huge fan off

And here i thought i get to see more adol talking 😢 then the same silent answer. Oh well who cares. We got metaphor and ys x before gta 6 woohoo.
I just think of him as a typical silent protagonist, the rest of the game is fully voiced for the most part so its not a big deal.
