My mother has 8 or 9 alpacas she rescued. All female except for one that was bottle fed. He showed these behaviors and I couldn’t stand being around him because he would try to dominate. Once I stopped acting afraid of him and put him in his place several times, he was no longer a problem. Re-establish the hierarchy 👍🏽
This is caused by overhandling too. Llamas that are bottle fed are only part of the issue. You loving on him at the end is encouraging his bad behavior.
Either leaving it with the mom, or if you have to bottle feed it using some sort of bottle holder instead holding it with your hand- that way there’s still some natural distance created at a young age.
“He’s trying to establish dominance.” So just like with a dog, YOU need to be alpha. It’s a challenge when animals are older but they can learn. I just thought of those electric shock collars used on dogs…every time he came at you you could give him a little zap! Wouldn’t take long for him to catch on! Haha Also, when bottle feeding animals/etc, you’ve got to always let them know you’re in charge and that they need to respect you. Same with a child. You don’t discipline them, they can become monsters.

You beat him at his own game. Truly a moving story
Damn, so you telling me that if I show affection and bottle-feed him. That creature will beat my ass out of respect. 😂

He still deserves hugs
Source?
Well at least he didn't stab you 37 times in the chest and eat your hands.
the Llama version of the emu Karen😅
Bro I thought that llama started barking for a split of a second when It raised the second time
Most likely if Fleetwood pins a human down on the ground, due to his symptoms of Berserk llama syndrome he would try to castrate or bite them.
what? OMG! WOW!
Wow!! That’s so crazy!! Castration via lama!! 😂❤
Are you sure they’re not sweet I love llamas you’re so adorable. They are my favorite animal.
There’s people with this BIZERKER SYNDROME! I used to know 2-3!
So you raise a pre epiphany Kuzco Llama
The donkey can kill a hyena but even he ran for the hills 😮
I read that most llamas with berserker syndrome are euthanized. Was Fleetwood?
Nope! Fleetwood has been at our sanctuary for the last two years now and will live out the rest of his long life here.
@@GoatDaddyseven though he wants to kill you?
@@Magikarplover-x9f exactly
@@GoatDaddys alls great till he tries to castrate you.
@@Magikarplover-x9f they did this to him,its not his fault.hope you dont have kids! 🙄
Animals attacking us is crazy.
What would be the alternative to bottle feeding?

@@GoatDaddys ah. Ok. When you hear "bottle feed" usually that means mom is out of the picture for whatever reason. I was perplexed.
novice handler syndrome
The right hook try him with the right hook
perhaps the lama just needs to be roughed up and respect boundaries that you can control him
Marvelous!❤😂
Things asking to catch a mean harai goshi
Hi! does alpaca have rabies? My sons finger got scratched by alpacas teeth. Thank you.
That’s when I bring a bat out in the pasture with me and teach Fleetwood’s ass the hierarchy.
Affirmative
Yeah, that's also called Animal abuse. Didn't know if you knew that or not.
@@Seashell3632It teaches them their place. Sometimes it is necessary
😂❤ maybe now a literal bat though…but you definitely have the right idea! Lol
If that's a thing then why don't they call it playdate syndrome instead?
with goats if you grab and hold their tail until they yell it can break them of this.
That's correct and you can learn from that mistake
¿Wtf?😂😂😂😂
