Considering your area of expertise is opera I believe you intently listened, evaluated, commented and in summary reacted in a most professional way to this video. Truthfully I just happened upon your site and decided to hear your assessment of Dan Vasc. It was detailed and thorough. For the many commentators here I thank you. All that said, I feel fortunate I do not have a “trained ear”. Yes, Dan's performances are always intense, especially this one, where he shows off his beautiful and strong natural baritone. Sometimes I get lost in his voice and performance ✨️ and it's not playback. Btw. Another interesting artist for you may be the Swede Erik Grönwall - he did a collab with Dan on his former band "H.E.A.T.s "Breaking the Silence" and with Tommy Johansson on Sabatons "Carolus Rex" - and his solo stuff on his channel is amazing, too (especially "I will always love you" and Black Sabbaths "Headless cross"). 🎶
I remember Dan saying that he never lip syncs, and if you see him singing, it's actually him singing. In another comment there seems to be a different opinion on this but I know I heard Dan say that.
If you meant my comment, I agree with you that Dan doesn't lip-sync. If you see him singing, he's singing. I added this note to my comment so it wouldn't be misunderstood.
In the beginning when he recorded his videos in his room he used the audio from the video. He explained in a podcast that he doesn't lip sync but the audio you hear in later videos is not be the one that he used, because his garage has too much background noise (his video recording studio is his garage).
Thank you for your further reaction and excellent analysis of this video by Dan. His vocal skills as a heavy metal singer and his presence are unique. Your assumption that the vocals and the video were recorded separately could be correct. I remember Dan mentioning in a podcast that he records his vocals in his own studio. Due to the echo and noise from the street, he cannot record the sound in the video studio in his garage. However, to create the rawness in his music video, it does not stop him from repeating his performance that he did in the studio in the garage. When you see Dan singing, he's singing. It's not lip syncing. In any case, he did an excellent job of bringing the two together. Thanks for sharing.....

It’s been months since I’ve watched/heard Dan’s Nessun Dorma. THIS is what I needed today, thank you! Thank you for your wonderful analysis of this beautiful aria, perfectly sung, in my opinion, by Dan. Edit to add: I believe this was sung live as it was recorded. Glad you mentioned Alessandro Conti, I always loved him in Trick or Treat and especially in Luca Turilli's Rhapsody! Elizabeth Zarhoff @The Charismatic Voice has said (in her own reaction to Dan) that she has seen tenors that are quite good hit a top note with a completely retracted tongue, like Dan or Eric Adams. Don't know if that means they are using the false chords unknowingly... Dan least obvious asset, but arguably his best is the skill at arrangement. The best example may be Kiss from a Rose.

I believe his video studio and recording studio are the same space and he has a way to deal with outside noise enabling him to not be required to lip sync.
Actually he records his singing in his office studio and records the video in his garage studio. I believed like you until I actually asked him this during a Bro Science episode and he set me straight. He said he cant record his singing in his garage studio because it would be too "echoey". He does still sing when he records the video, but he doesnt use that singing. So, technically he doesnt lip sync. He just matches the song to the video.
I'm sure you're right, but still, it's amazing that I've never noticed even the slightest mismatch in putting the two together in the hundreds of times I've watched his videos. Can't imagine how he accomplishes such precise matching of voice and video.

Please click on the settings button near the sibtitles button under the video, so you can choose the language you prefer! :)
Click on the gear wheel next to the cc and then select CAPTIONS. Hit english and you are done. Took me awhile to figure it out. 😂
