In this video I was catching bluegill bream and some shellcracker fishing the river one morning using my cane pole. My friend pockets came along to fish as well and away we went, the bite started off really hot from the beginning but unfortunately you have to fish your way through a lot of small hungry fish before you can start to catch some of the bigger fish. It was a great morning to be fishing on the river with my good friend and by the end of the trip we caught a lot of fish and kept some of the bigger bluegills and shellcrackers to cook up for lunch later on in the day.

@@StompinDirt those mud fish are good to eat also. If you have never tried it you should I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised. The key to a good mud fish fry is to not get the meat wet. Keep the fish alive until you’re ready to cook. Fillet it like you would any other fish but do not wash the meat just wipe with a paper towel the blood and any other stuff that gets on the fillet. Cut into nuggets and fry with your favorite blend. I really do think you’ll enjoy it.
@travisnichols5680 I appreciate the info and beleive me I've tried them and I've cleaned and prepared them a many a different ways and to this day I still don't like eating mudfish. Maybe it's just the mudfish down here in Florida rivers IDK, I have a video on the channel doing a catch clean cook

@@StompinDirt ooh yeah when I’m salmon fishing and don’t wanna skunk ha switch it up to sturgeon and it’s on baby haha be better when we’re able to keep ‘em and when season does open it’s a very small window to fish for them and most of them will be oversized catch and release only after that
