Is this the same Whisky I had a few years back? Some prominent reviewers are critical on how some Whiskys change and sometimes not for the better. There can be numerous reasons why distilleries run into that. One reason is running out of the good casks for maturing and finishing whisky then choosing tired exhausted casks. The Bunnahabhain 12 may be exactly the opposite. Can it actually be that much better today? I do not remember this Scotch being so exceptional. It was always a decent whisky but this bottle or batch is definitely something special. I think I have found a Gem that maybe I had forgotten. Take a seat, sit back and enjoy the video. Slàinte Mhath

Couldn't have said it any better!! 🤌one of my all time faves!! 💯👑🥃
Hi Escargo, and thanks for the interest. More people are now discovering this less popular & isolated Islay distillery that had gone a different direction. Slàinte Mhath
Cheers Sir a great bottle to review, sipping along with you. Also I was hoping for advice on Shelter Points bottles, we have Ripple Rock here in the UK for £63 I believe you said 85 to 95 Can £, so not bad & the Single malt CS @58.7% for £75. So If I can only get the one for now, what would you grab?
Thanks for the interest and the reply. Both the Single Malt 46% and the CS are excellent choices. I also have the Ten and the Twelve that have that Shelter Point signature taste. These are whiskies matured in Jack Daniels Bourbon Barrels and because of the quality of the barley used (grown next door to the distillery) they have a sweet malty barley sugar taste to their whiskies. They don't need to be finished in Sherry. Slàinte Mhath
@@noelsworldofwhisky8208 Cheers Noel, much appreitiated, by the way if you see Benromach Contrast organic (2014 batch bottled in 23) in the next few months I hear it is worth a purchase. They use a local farms produce & virgin oak casks & Roy (Aqvavitae) gave it a good review last night,
The whisky that kicked off Ralfy's journey, back in the day. (co-founder of the Online Scotch Whisky Awards).
Thanks for the interest and the reply. Good ol' Ralfy. He just recently gave it an 87. I have been a fan of the Bunna since I first tried it in 2013. I hope to get a chance to try the 18 when I am in Scotland in May with my daughters. Slàinte Mhath
@@noelsworldofwhisky8208 speaking of Bunna 12, the other week I called past a local bottle shop. They had it on clearance sale for $87.30, so I scored the last 2 bottles. Where previously it had been around $120....
