one of the things that I always liked with Hunter X Hunter was the constant sense of progress. it suffers a bit in the chimera ant arc, but overall you always feel like you're going somewhere. you're never bored. it's this constant motion towards something, whether that's getting a hunter license, getting Killua back, getting better at Nen, finding more info on Gon's dad, climbing the battle tower, tracking down the phantom troupe, getting cash to buy Greed island, dealing with the Bomber, collecting cards, planning to beat Razor. there are always several things going on and every moment, even if it's not the main thread, is going to lead back to it
Chimera Ant arc slander will not be tolerated
Awesome video. I liked the Hunter x Hunter bit best because I never thought to put it that way. Also I laughed every time at the killer clown “honk honk” moments.
HxH and Jojo pt 7 are my favorites with OP as third. They are all great imo.
For me its the other way around. One Piece has the clear edge for me because its long-term storytelling and world building is far grander and better.

Me: MY TIME HAS COME
A breakdown of Fairy Tail & why it’s criminally hated is heavily needed. It’s a good show actually. Or a hidden gem breakdown (hitman, d gray man, magi)
Awesome video really gave me a good look into how the creates build their stories and how they wanted to form their arcs. I really like how the authors change and mold their stories to explore many different areas that they wish to show off like characters and themes. I love the idea of this new series on your channel Axel, I know that you will make this a truly informative and interesting series to learn and enjoy from, keep on being excellent ~!!!
How does this only have 500 views...man hell no
It happens 😂
Definitley enjoyed an would like to see you do more videos like that (and historical background ones!)
And this one really made me add HunterxHunter to my (growing) to watch list.
I think you'd love hxh! Hope you end up watching :)
One Piece is the only series that can continuously gone for so long while following 1 main character and yet is still super popular and relevant. Usually a lot of manga would have to resort to switch main characters to keep things fresh or just fall out of relevancy. I love One piece cause every arcs just kept on building on the themes while also prepping up for next arc.
Lol, that really depends on the writing styles. Imagine Oda focusing largely on other characters without the Straw hats crew in a single arc, it will sure hurt the manga sales.
@@rexgeorgerodriguez7620Half of the newest arc so far begs to differ!
@@Papi_C lol the straw hats are still on the big picture and the arc is rumored to be the "final arc" of course the crazy fanboys are on edge.
Loved the video! The only correction is that Josuke is Joseph's son, not grandson.
This series is gonna be so lit
Awesome Analysis, I agree with you. I put off these series because they are so long and I usually don't go through a series in one shot. I know they are good but the length with always turn me off to them. I really like how you broke everything down. It was all really easy to follow =) Positive vibes to you, Axel. Can't wait for the next video you made =)
Because of this I started Hunter x Hunter
Ayyy I hope you enjoy it!
More of this please 🧐
seems like this is what i need
it also seems what Naoki Yoshida team did for all of Final Fantasy 14 story, sometimes flat, sometimes player became delivery man but then theres that dark times
so.. this thing works too for a games with slight differences in PoV
Yesterday’s edit 😅🥰 I love it 🥰
I could never get into HunterXHunter but I love Killua and Meruem is just amazing One Piece has an amazing story with its journey and characters as for Jojo all I know is ZA WORLDO
Epic
Look awesome I really love the video
Good video! An impressive start, maybe only improved by trimming some plot information that doesn't quite add to the analysis. I'd really want to see a deeeper dive into the nuts and bolts of each one if you're willing!
15:08 oh jezvs
I will say hunter hunter. was a fantastic series and I had a very fun time making amvs for that particular series and on top of it. it was even more fun to make a little side amv especially fantastic series all the way.
Jo jo's asked the important question. How much cocaine can i inhale and still tell a coherent story, the answer is yes.
Can't believe there are no more comments.
"The good version of not being able to look away from a car crash"
*Drives by accident* Ohh my gawd. Holy sheeit!
hunter x hunter is great until its hiatus which kills its future anime adaptation

Are you sure about that?
Excuse me?
Goats?
Can i use these tips for a visual novel?
You can use these for anything really; these are made more to get people thinking about this sort of thing in general. You don't have to follow anything I said or anything like that, but as long as you are conscious about what you want your story to look like I think the story as a whole will always benefit :)
@@AxelBeats Great thank you so much for your videos
🥰
Is using Arlong Park and Sabaody really the best example to use for parallel or mirrored stories? Because you didn't actually say anything that was similar and headcannoned that Nami was getting more nervous about getting to Fishman Island the closer they got when there's no indication of it and you called Camie a Fishman, which she is not. She is a Mermaid. Sure, you can say they're similar (they're not) but you lumped Camie as the same as people like Arlong, which is inaccurate as Mermaids don't have the same strength as fishmen.
Late but the mirrored story is that we see fishmen as terrible creatures in arlong park but then in sabaody and fishmen island we see humans as awful too. In arlong park the fishmen controlled the people of the village but in sabaody the celestial dragons and auctioneers control the fishmen above the surface of the water. I agree that it's not the best parallel in terms of just being a parallel but it's a great example to express the themes in one piece without going too far in depth on the story.
@@buckbuckbuck3992 Sure, that makes sense but a better parallel would be comparing Alabansta and Dressorsa since it's both Luffy liberating a country from a tyrant Shichibukai.
@@vailingbow1068 I agree I just think alabasta/dressrosa would take longer to explain to a non-viewer than the more prevolent theme of racism that also connects to our world.
@@buckbuckbuck3992 Bruh what? It wouldn't take longer in the least. All you gotta say is 2 countries are being oppressed by a Shichibukai and Luffy defeats that Shichibukai and saves that island. Done. That wasn't long or complicated.
@@vailingbow1068 yeah but that explanation doesnt show the themes of one piece. Beating the bad guys or opressing evil isn't a theme that makes one piece unique from other animes.
One piece is awesome amazing but some Arc are really stretched out like wano is too long and boring it has good moments but still boring.
Disagree. Wano has some pacing issues but its pure hype overall.
Agree, Wano is my least favorite Arc... But for me one piece goofiness always kills the tension for me and Wano had none at all or maybe I forgot because it was too long...
@@phantomknight1395 if you're anime only then it's easily the worst paced arc imo but if u read the manga it doesnt get any better (especially the end)
Jojo is far from being the best... it is infested with plot holes and plot conveniences poor choices... power system and art are only good thing about Jojo... plus poor dialogues...
I think you're just not reading into it enough. I don't blame you shit's specific but I'm certain Araki knew what he wrote.
Jojos sucks
