Siemens TIA Portal & KTP400 HMI (Creating a Stop Start Station on the HMI)

- Now that we have our HMI configured to communicate with our Siemens S7-1200 PLC via our router, let's start off by creating a Stop and a Start push button on the HMI that can control a 3 wire control circuit within our TIA Portal.
Note: at the end of the video you will see the program changing state without inputs from the hmi as a talk through the summary of the video... just disregard it. I must have placed the wrong video portion in at the end. =(
You're the best man! You've shown the basic but most important step before proceeding to the harder ones! Thank you!!
wow your contents are so basic and it is all hand on and easy to understand :) Keep posting more
Good information! Simple but necessary to continue with more complicate programs.
Thanks a lot.
For hmi download... Is it necessary to connect hmi devices sir
you are an amazing man. thank you!!
Excellent, good explanation and good teaching methods,I recommended those who need to learn PLC programming Thanks for the video.
nice introduction in HMI.i am waiting for the moment you will create an HMI exactly whats in the factory io.. i just love how to make the graphics . thanks for the free lessons.
That's a great idea to incorporate the HMI into the Factory IO programs. Thanks!
No comment dear Sir, thank you a lot.
Great channel sir, I really love these tutorial especially that they are in American Accent, this is a great advantage these days with all the bad accent courses invading RUclips.
1. Thanks for the comment, but I'm Canadian, eh.
2. The other accents may sound foreign to some, but are perfect for others. I have learned a phenomenal amount from videos from the Philippines, Germany, India, etc. I am just fortunate the my native language is English, but that doesn't mean that my content is any better than others.
3. That is the beauty of the RUclips platform, everyone can post a video, and you are able to find a video that suits your needs and preferences.
Pete Vree great answer, you are a great person. Thanks again for everything.
And I also like the Canadian accent of course.
Good video, thanks!
Thanks for share this videos with us
Question. When I program the on/off predetermined switch (located in the toolbox) it works in the same way as this video shows. The memory keeps the information of the bits. But the layout does not keep its position. If I move the botton to on position and then change the visualization to any screen, then, when I am back to the screen were the switch is placed... The botton is in off position again. How can I freeze the botton in on position?
Hi Pete, the OFF push button is better to be normally closed. In the present configuration, if the wire to the off push button was broken or a bad contact on the OFF push button will result in the OFF push button being not able to stop the output. Hence it is not Fail safe. Can you please check?
Thanks a lot!
top lezion
Ever tried to drag and drop the tags onto the hmi screen, or using set/reset block programming? Much more efficient in my opinion.
Going to try the drag and drop next. The set/reset are great as well. I will add it to my list of videos to do. Thanks so much
Dear You. Thanks a lot. How do i know what leason 1 to learn first then increase level after. Thanks agian

For hmi download is it necessary to connect hmi device sir?
I haven't found a way to simulate the HMI yet. So my thought is yes, unless anyone else has any ideas.
Is ist the same with ktp700?
Yes. The KTP700 is just a larger HMI
The slider doesn't appear in the accessories elements TIA PORTAL V15.1.tell me PLEASE how can I add it?
I haven't been able to figure this out yet. Perhaps it isn't available on the basic panels? If you find an answer please reply to your own comment so we can have an answer. Thanks
i should use the comfort panel. So i can't add slider on the basic panel and simatic panel . In my configuration i have used the basic panel , so i change it.
Why HMI not transfer? Help me!
(Waiting for transfer alway.... 0%.)
How does the HMI connect to the PLC?? I need to control a motor via PROFINET can this be done when the HMI is connected?? Do I need a special router for this??
You'll need an ethernet switch new.siemens.com/global/en/products/automation/industrial-communication/industrial-ethernet/industrial-ethernet-switches-scalance-x.html
@@PeteVree Does the HMI use up the Ethernet port of the S7-1200 PLC??
@@arbjful Yes. There is only one Ethernet Port on the S7-1200
@@PeteVree Is it possible to use an commercial office grade Ethernet switch??, I just need to demo a product that uses a PROFINET motor, I don't need an industrial grade switch
@@arbjful Yes. I believer you should be able to use any ethernet switch
