    But why are artists even given relief when we the ordinary citizens were also retrenched but didn't receive anything.Artists must earn their money like the rest of us. Most of them even dodge SARS but want to be relieved using our tax money 😢. These celebrities suffer from previlege.

    • @MrT-Bag
      @MrT-Bag 16 дней назад +3

      the was a covid relief funds for everyone, those R350 given to unemployed during covid was covid relief funds so to say ordinary citizens didn't receive anything its either misleading or misinformed, my employer received a covid fund & pay it to me as employee hence my employer didn't retrench employees, the covid funds was to help companies to survive during covid & not retrench staff , So if u didn't receive any covid funds & u were retrenched 1 of 3 happened either your employer didn't apply for covid relief funds or your employer apply but didn't qualifies bcos of not following labour practice such as registering employees, not paying tax & UIF Or your employer received covid funds & gave u nothing but retrenched employees which is a crime so if u didn't get a cent from your employer during covid do a follow-up with department of labour, some employers are in trouble now for getting the funds & not give the employees but retrenched & save covid funds for them self,
      as for artists getting money from department nothing wrong they also pay tax like all of us so well-done DSAC

      Do you understand the terms of their relief fund,?? hv you ever read their application form and the requirements of it.?? Just because it's called a relief fund doesn't min its like Sassa 350 you just given fr doin nothing. Artists are asked to come with project concepts fr job creation they give services and employ others fr activities and that money cover the cost of those activities so do your research.

    I think this is indicative of a larger issue. The government helps everybody. Everybody goes to the government at some point with hat in hand, even big corporations. But because we are so bombarded with this idea of do- for- self or hustling, , those who receive government help keep quite under the impression that they do not want to encourage government dependency to their customers or followers. Hence we're seeing this; thousands of artists and companies quietly eating from the government in silence while publicly criticizing government.

      There was forms to be filled out to prove they qualified. Im sure many rural artists did not even know there was a fund for them.

    Dj Sbu, as to Legends getting more, I disagree.
    As to Artist keeping mouth shut, that is the nature of this industry. There is lot of hippocry in the creative sector.
    Is there a policy at the department that addresses gratuity payments for travels or honorary travels by artist. If not develop the policy.
