    Thanks for the honest review Trad-Man!
    Honestly I'm not surprised this problem is happening due to the materials and price. If they used high tension fabric, like is used for a hang glider or sail boat, the gunslinger would cost easily over $300. The concept is still great but definitely needs reworking for better longevity.

    We have 4 Gunslingers. I think they are far superior to a plastic boab. However, the first one had the loose stitching problem but I got that fixed. A few phone calls and I found a shoe repair shop that threw in a stitch for free. It took about 2 min in the store. One we got recently has the leak problem. It seems to be somewhere in the bottom inch or two. Reach-it has responded to my request for help but no action has been taken yet.
    And I do think it is over priced. But a boab made with a single piece of plastic injection molding is also over priced. And, as others stated, the belt loop was always ripping away from the plastic boab. So looking at two imperfect overpriced designs I’ll take the gunslinger everytime.

    I’d love to see another manufacturer pick up Richie’s design. My first one had to be replaced because of stitching and the color faded after two months. I expect the same issues with the new one. For the cost, I expect much better quality. I had to pay shipping costs for my replacement too, so I’m into the Gunslinger for around $150 now. I doubt I’ll be sending Reach-It any more of my money.

    By publicizing some of these concerns on social media, these manufactures and distributors may feel obligated to fix these concerns. I feel that that 90% of the window cleaning industry is unprofessional. You would think that window cleaning manufacturers and window cleaning distributors would lead my example. We have many other great industries that make improvements with their tools and/or customer service and product warranties/guarantees. That’s why I’m very picky with what distributors I shop with or what manufactures tools I stand behind 100%.😊

    I havehad issues with the last 2 ive received. Very obvious they are doing no quality control, because of the fact they for some reason changed the design to a worse case scenario to where its leaking down the front. My original reach it gunslinger is now reshaping itself like the henry holster does. Which is causing a splash out the front of tipjar. Thank god I have 2 original prototypes to fall back on. Its very unfortunate that they cant get this squared. Was told 3 weekes ago id be getting a replacement with qc done by Perry himself. Still no Gunslinger. Im guessing i probably wont receive it lol.

    I have an original design and its held up well...it is getting worn where my squeegee sits and the belt loop edges are worn but still very strong structurally. I agree the materials used are very cheap...I dont care for the pleather they use. I have seen a lot of people saying the newer version leaks. I think I'm very fortunate to have the earliest model...I pray they resolve these issues and possibly use better materials in the 2.0 model or I may need to switch to something else too. Thank you for your honest review. Perry's customer service is second to none but it really must be paired with a high quality product as well.

      That was the samurai boab. It was only suited for some squeegees, when it came to moerman tools they wouldn't stay in, always fell out and left indents in the rubber. The moerman blue boab is the best there is really at the moment. The gunslinger would have been good but the issues in recent times with the quality have let it down.

    I'm feeling let down by it aswell. For me even the way it was advertised was wrong. Dont know about anybody else but I like to carry 3 liquidators. The gunslinger advertised u could carry about 10 squeegees. Well if u work up a ladder even carrying 2 in the main slot is awkward because of the way they sit. Had an issue where I was getting a little mark on my squeegee which yeah eventually went away but that adds time onto every window. Also needing that sponge now means it's actually stopping me using any squeegee bigger than a 16. Biggest problem though is build quality. Half the stitching on the front holster has broken away and needs repaired. Not what I expected from a £115 product after 1 month. An email will be going reach its way to find a solution.

The Slinger is still the best BOAB I.M.O. and that could because I don't have issues But if its hit and miss that's not on the Design end that goes to Quality Control. Trad - Man I never said I didn’t like the Moerman product. I shouldn’t have to use paper clips to keep rubber from slipping out of the excelerator. I don’t have this problem with other floating rubber tools or friction tools. It doesn’t matter the cost of expectations. It should work as described or meant to be. 😊

    • @TradMan
      @TradMan  6 лет назад

      J W Agrred, I have suggested as well as others for moerman to make inserts like unger to hold rubber thats a smaller sized bulb. If you use Ettore rubber in the liquidator you dont really need the inserts as its a tight fit, but with pulex and moerman rubber you need something to hold the rubber tighter. Everyone assumes rubber is the same sizes but thats not the case so not all rubbers will have the same results in the channel. But that being said there should be official inserts that come with the tool so if use do use a rubber with a smaller size you can just use the clips like many squeegees use.

    • @motto775
      @motto775 6 лет назад +1

      J W So what squeegee/channel are you able to not using end clips?

    • @49684
      @49684 6 лет назад

      motto775 Any handle that has teeth on it similar to Unger ergo tech handles. Ettore makes a kit you can add to your handles, but some ettore handles may come with the teeth. In other terms it’s a floating rubber, meant for light handed users. Then you have friction channels, that is held in by a pinched channel. The excelerator handle with a liquidator channel uses both teeth and friction. Wagtail uses friction channels that pinch in the center. Most circumstances: floating rubber = light handed users. Clipped channels = heavy handed users, with the exception of plastic ended channels. Hope this makes sense. 😊

    I’ve been working with a wide range of reach it’s products, representing tens of thousands of hours now from about 15 people, and we’ve got such a “love, hate” relationship with their products.
    I’ve had WF brushes crumble and break apart, BOAB’s tear, leak, screws and rivets come undone. The consensus isn’t great. I respect and appreciate the aim to give that top of the line product, but despite charging the price for it, I, we have felt really disappointed from Reach It.
    A new problem that I personally am running into, is that some of the materials inside my BOAB are beginning to fray and are causing my squeegee rubbers to wear out very quickly in the middle of the channel. Less than 1 year on current reach it BOAB.
