Let’s make this a real thing and have 912 call centers filled with volunteers to answer racist emergency calls forwarded from the emergency call center.
They wouldn't get any calls and they would have to close down the call center. There would be an inquiry into wasted tax dollars and people would be fired.

I'd say more than 500 years. The treatment of American Indians has been a very shameful and evil part of "American" (including Canadian) history - starting before 1500 CE. As an example - the religious-driven boarding schools that we need to investigate (and expose) further... because of all the abuse and even murder that took place. I met a fellow Creek who told of being sexually abused in one of those schools, and I've heard and read many other accounts of how Native Americans were treated (in those schools and in much of the country). It's far common than people realize and institutionalized - for instance, it took a Federal law to give many American Indians freedom of religion (and even the right to just EXIST in their traditional homeland) - and the whites have been fighting against that law since it was first proposed.
I remember the fuss quite well when it passed - the law giving us equal freedom was passed while I was in college - in 1979/1980! Big name preachers were making all sorts of false claims (slander) regarding the law and our people and fought to have that law repealed.
Before we gained our religions freedom and rights, any governmental employee (in much of the south) was required under state laws to arrest us and throw us in prison ("at hard labor") for just being identified as American Indian in areas where we were banned. That requirement was lifted after we got freedom of religion. By the way, it applied to men, women, AND CHILDREN. Every time we visited my grandmother, we actually risked our freedom and even our lives every time we came down, driving through those areas. (I didn't learn that I was actually American Indian until decades later - in middle age.)

The americas are melting pots so what culture is it really? I’m mixed European born and raised in Canada but never state that I’m Canadian as I’m disgusted by the historical acquisition of this land. It was built on theft, genocide and slavery the same as the USA.
@@catalhuyuk7 I consider myself to be Native American (or American Indian if you prefer), although I also have some European and even African slave (probably), plus Sami and Jewish ancestors. It's a long and private story, but we both are living as best we can in the dominant culture, but we do NOT feel that we belong to it at all. We also don't like it.

There's a whole app called NextDoor - basically the place where white folks go to racially profile their neighbors...usually to get other white people to cosign any perceived threat - and occurs before or after they've call the cops.

@@dnacheezit we have nextdoor in the UK too, and it's almost entirely about lost pets and and queries about plumbers etc. The few racist remarks I've seen got shut down very quickly. So it's a surprise to hear that nextdoor has a terrible reputation in the US. Sounds to me like it's another Facebook failure, where the platform developers are derelict in their duty of care.
Leaving aside white suprematism for a moment, I think maybe we should talk more about racism and acts of racism rather than racists. Not only do people who customarily, casually and unthinkingly use racist comments always deny they are racists, making a meaningful and productive discussion about the problem almost impossible, indeed often it entrenches such views,, but we need to see racism as something endemic, multiple and as much to do with the economic and social structure as it is to do with ignorance, vulgarity and poor education. We all struggle with prejudices, and rightly we should examine and struggle against them.
Leaving aside the people who are obviously and overtly racist, if it’s a racist comment where the benefit of the doubt is reasonable I agree that saying that’s a racist comment and here’s a an article, video etc that explains why will get us a lot farther than just saying You’re A Racist.
