I was fortunate enough to see this exhibition. My two favourite dresses were. The Queen of Zenoba Fancy Dress Ball gown, designed by Worth for the then Duchess of Devonshire. And a marvellous purple dress (cut on the bias), designed by John Gilliano for Givenchy. 🥰

The then Duchess of Devonshire was Mistress of the Robes to Queen Mary. One evening when the Duchess had worn the big family tiara at a royal event Queen Mary had complained to her about the weight of her own tiara. The Duchess later said 'The Queen doesn't know what a heavy tiara is. '

Surprised by Stella Tennent accent!Fabulouse history to be enjoyed by everyone who desire to visit. Tamish pointlessly repeated the previous lady remarks on detailed oddities.Of the late Duchess, famous Mitford Sister.

The modern designs are trash compared to the wonderful traditional dresses and jewels.

Spectacular jewelry collection. Wonder how much of it was plundered from India?

I bet none of the diamonds shown in this video came from India but rather from Africa. How embarassing!

Update.... The Indians came to Paris with boxes and literally gave their legacy to Europeans jewelers, ... Either by artistic permission or underperformed military excerices. You too are fruit of victory's plunder... And again resold their lagcy to se Europeans when they needed the money 🙈

Ahh I see the all seeing eye is represented again on this tiara as well. Boy they were really not trying to hide their evil spirit.
