This is amazing! Tremendous job on crafting this storage setup! One thing to be careful of, keep an eye on the black rubber mesh used to keep the cars in place. I have had versions of that that react with plastic over time causing damage. It may not be all brands though. An alternative may be looking into a museum supply store like Gaylord for a material that is not reactive. Edit.. just realized this is a year old so hopefully everything turned out ok

Thanks for showing this. This is the most important part of collecting once you start up buying cars. You can never really plan this out you just have go with the flow to see what you can come up with as time goes on and what space you have to work with. Everyone will have their own take as to what works for them but showing setups will go a long way on helping people out. A good work in progress!! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Steve. You’re right...it’s never going to be a one size fits all solution. I haven’t seen many other collectors storage systems but I’d bet there are better ones than mine. This one works great for me so far and is as personal to me as the collection itself. This video clearly shows that I’m not a carpenter 😂 so maybe others can have a crack at something outside of their usual skill set. 👊🙂🦘

I a still using the small plastic tubs with tops and they are placed on a 5 high shelf unit 3 high 5 wide per shelf space. Like yourself it is not ideal but for now it works for me. The next item that could be looked at setting up data base to help keep track of what you have. This goes hand in hand with storage space and helps keep you knowing what you have and where grow it for there.
@@steverobsondiecast The Mrs set up a great database and was patient enough to teach me how to upload photos and everything but it takes more time than I have at the moment. Eventually it will save me from having to say ‘I probably have one of these somewhere’ on my videos 😂😂

I have a few Matchbox but I really only keep stuff I like no matter makes they are bit mainly Mk1 Escort’s 70’s 80’s Fords European stuff but I am getting as many Mk2 Escorts as they are getting must have cars & I can see the price getting stupid all really but I do have a few now for custom’s! Thanks, Mick. Matchbox did some nice Escorts in the 70s and 80s but I really like the castings HW did with the flared wheel arches. Growing up in NZ, Escorts were everywhere, along with the Prefects, Anglias, Cortinas...Triumphs, Austins, the whole crew. What an era!
a nice job, you dont just get one or two of each do you, you have it bad, but thats can be said about all of us, I think up new ways all the time, the cheapest I have found is plastic carpark grids, the ones that you lay in grass to protect it when cars park on it. Well I have quite a few of those down my hallway, in a tight space its a good cheap solution.
