@Tetracore I first heardthem on a compilation called artificial intelligence in the early 90s and have been hooked ever since. I'm now 51 and it works just the same every time
As a drummer I know a lot of modern drummers, like Maison Guidry, Tony Royster Jr, Eric Moore, but Ive been listening to Autechre since 2001, and their stuff are So complicated, these guys are drum/music geniuses. Every modern drummer should know all their albums. They are forward thinking gods. Next I would like to see your reactions to Boards Of Canada, BrothomStates - these guys are very good!
They have several decades of amazing work. Challenging, not always "enjoyable," but always impressive and expertly crafted.. A unique mixture of robotics and human emotion.
Your response to this track was awesome. Props for actually giving it your undivided attention for the whole 11 minutes, and genuinely listening. "Organic machine" hits the nail on the head to me.
Wow! A reaction to Surripere by Autechre. Amazing. This is insane, difficult, beautiful music. So glad to find someone reacting to this. Try also Eutow, Rae and X4. Btw, have you heard of Boards of Canada?
As an Ae veteran I can confirm, this is amongst their greatest compositions ever. A very good track to show people not into this. Because it is Ae, because it is creative, wild, interesting. Their typical talent to produce instability and decay, and also find back to order. E.g. Uviol has subtle decay/discomfort, but the early track "Stop Look Listen" some wild change at some point.
6:01 a magic element of autechre is that despite listening them regularly now as a fan of their work, your reaction to Surripere at that point is exactly the same reaction I have there on every listen of this track, just realising precussion kicked in and then just honing in to try and find it despite being so off-kilter and spaced out. All those rapid reactions to what the music is doing and how the hell to react to the inertic and incomplete structure is definitely warranted.
"Ow-Tech-Reh" They have a LOT of music! Awesome Queen poster on your door, BTW. I've never seen that shot. Reminds me a little of Rocky Horror. hehe...
ELECTRONIC MADNESS! .Solo album The Two Sides of Tony (T.S.) McPhee was released in 1973. Side B is a single psychedelic art rock electronic composition in four movements, featuring Arp 2600 Synthesizers, Electric Piano and The Rhythm Ace Drum Synthesizer. Entitled The Hunt, it explores McPhee's strong stance against fox and stag hunting

There is no real correct way of saying autechre and the guys themselves have said it's just a made up word and you can say it however you want. I pronounce it 'awe teh chair' but I'm in a minority I'd guess. I just find it the easiest way to say it. So I guess if there is no 'correct' way of saying it mine is as good, or as bad as any other.
Just a reminder that this track is 20 YEARS OLD.
Thanks for making me feel old AF. I remember this coming out like it was yesterday.
@@dastaug same feeling, bro.
42 years old and have been listening since 1997. So great to hear someone encounter it for the first time with excitement and appreciation.

Great choice for an Autechre track.
truly.

At sudden drop in the middle where that big ripping snare and kick crashes in just makes me smile every single time

Great faces. It’s a gift to watch you process that whole track. Ancient melodies, future beats.
Awe-tek-er. Great review, this is the golden era of Æ
Autechre que de souvenirs ! ☺☺
Wow, love autechre! Special live appearances in Full darkness. Was nice seeing Your Reaktion First time
I'd recommend bike and all of Tri Repetae
❤
If it's legal in your country boys and girls, smoke with autechre. I relax with whisky.

Aw-Tec-A .... OR - TEC - A (is probably best)
The way Sean (AE) says it with his northern accent should cover the above ;)
@@steveprice7869 You're leaving out the "R" that begins the third syllable. It's French.
