assuming the same position of starting with tan being pressured and slight collapse, you will want to maintain forward supple energy from your elbow to your opponent's center. Then without tensing at the contact point move your elbow up and then drive thru with the bong sao structure! Give it a try with a friend and see how it works but just remember you don't want to muscle it. The more you muscle it or tense up...that energy will end up pushing you back.
